Inside, Valex sat with his arm gently wrapped around Odesse, who rested her head against his shoulder, her eyes half-closed in tranquil exhaustion. Across from them sat Kael and Cara, taking in the serene atmosphere.
Valex chuckled softly, looking down at his wife with deep warmth. "My love, I advised that we skip Lady Celeste and Orin's baby ceremony, especially keeping in mind that you are in your final month."
Odesse stirred slightly, her voice soft and stubborn. "No, my King. Lady Celeste is a good friend of mine... we could not simply decline."
