Henry stood beside his little daughter's bed, his eyes shimmering with an emotion he could not hide. Beside him, a doctor and a nurse wore bright smiles, a rare sight in the oncology ward.
"Zoey, sweetheart, the doctor has some incredible news to share with you today," Henry said. His voice trembled slightly, heavy with the relief he had suppressed through months of long prayers.
"What news, Daddy?" Zoey asked. Her face was pale but beautiful, etched with curiosity. She tried to push her small body upright, and Clara quickly moved to support Zoey's back so she could sit comfortably.
The doctor stepped forward, holding his medical clipboard with pride. "Zoey, you are cleared to go home tomorrow morning. You have completely defeated all those mean cancer cells that were trying to bother you," the doctor said in a triumphant tone.
"Really, Doctor? I'm truly all better?" Zoey asked. Her round eyes suddenly sparkled, radiating a pure happiness that touched everyone in the room.
