Several days had passed since the major surgery. The atmosphere inside the patient room felt far more tranquil as Mary stepped in to find Celine busy wringing out a small towel in a basin of warm water.
"Is the romantic scene over yet? I don't want to intrude again," Mary said teasingly, closing the door behind her.
"Of course it is, Mary," Celine answered shortly. She had just finished sponging Leo's body with warm water to ensure her husband felt refreshed, even though he wasn't yet able to bathe normally.
Mary walked closer, her eyes fixing on Celine with a serious expression. "I'm here to pick you up. It's high time you went home and slept in a proper bed, Celine."
Celine immediately stopped what she was doing and turned toward Leo, as if asking for permission.
"Mary is right. The doctor cleared you to go home yesterday. You should go back now and get some rest," Leo chimed in. His voice still sounded a bit raspy, but it was much stronger than before.
