Chapter 115 - The Cost of Protagonist Syndrome

His sudden decision to violently fling himself into the abyss had clearly inflicted a terrifying amount of psychological stress onto Shizuku and Kaori—a stress vastly deeper than he had initially thought it would be.

In the absolute privacy of the dimensional penthouse, there were no judgmental eyes. There were no societal rules, no Hero to coddle, and absolutely no monsters to fight. There were only the three of them.

Because of that intense, suffocating isolation, everything they did felt heavily magnified. It was as if they were suspended in a thick, euphoric state, completely erasing the horrors of the labyrinth as they desperately let themselves go.

Suzuki had to admit, the feeling of absolute control was dangerously addictive, especially since both Shizuku and Kaori were devastatingly beautiful.

The way Shizuku's sleek ponytail swayed as she arched her back on all fours, or the incredibly tight, demanding way she wrapped her toned, athletic thighs around his waist when he pushed her to her limit... everything about the stoic Swordmaster was intensely dangerous in the bedroom. Suzuki was incredibly grateful for the limitless supply of modern contraceptives he secured through his [Online Shopping] skill. If he hadn't planned ahead, Shizuku's flat, athletic stomach would undoubtedly be swelling with his child by now.

Yet, the one who constantly surprised him the most was, without a doubt, Kaori.

In the eyes of the entire Kingdom and their high school class, Kaori Shirasaki was a pure, untouchable saint. She was the gentle, soft-spoken Priestess who was universally worshipped. In their naive minds, the very concept of Kaori possessing "adult knowledge" simply didn't exist. They had placed her on an impossibly high pedestal, viewing her as an immaculate goddess who should only be appreciated from a respectful distance.

If their classmates knew what he was doing to her, they would have likely tried to execute him for tarnishing an angel.

However, Shizuku—who had been Kaori's childhood friend for years—knew the dark, incredibly alluring truth. Kaori was an incredibly naughty, deeply indecent girl~!

Unlike Shizuku, who was incredibly proper, rigid, and strictly bound by the traditional discipline of her family's swordsmanship dojo, Kaori had a heavily suppressed wild side. If it wasn't for Kaori, Shizuku might not have ever learned about adult goods on Earth. It was always Kaori who curiously lingered in the 18+ sections of stores, dragging a helplessly blushing Shizuku along with her.

That deeply suppressed, lewd curiosity was exactly why Kaori was currently moving her hips in such a devastatingly slow, rhythmic grind as she sat straddling Suzuki's lap. Her beautiful, long hair had become a messy, silken curtain falling across his bare chest, her soft palms resting firmly on his abdominal muscles. Her entire body flushed a deep, feverish pink as she whimpered sweetly, her angelic face twisting into a heavy, intoxicating mask of pure lust.

Watching from the side of the bed, Shizuku wasn't even surprised. She was just entirely speechless, silently wondering if Kaori actually possessed a hidden [Succubus] Job class that the Kingdom's appraisers had missed.

"D-Don't keep staring at me like that, Shizuku!" Kaori gasped, burying her flushed face into Suzuki's neck.

"...You say that, Kaori," Shizuku teased, her voice dropping into a dark, husky register, "but your hips moved so much faster when you noticed I was watching you."

"No~!" Kaori squeaked, though she didn't stop grinding against him.

Suzuki, lying perfectly relaxed beneath Kaori's soft, incredibly warm weight, looked over at his girlfriend.

"Have you calmed down yet?" he asked smoothly.

"...No," Shizuku pouted, crawling over the sheets to lay her head on his shoulder. "But we need to rest for a minute. I know you need to conserve some energy to go back up there and deal with the expedition."

"..."

The moment Shizuku mentioned the word "expedition," the thick, heavily erotic mood in the room violently sank. Reality came crashing back down.

"...Did you really have to do that?" Shizuku whispered, her finger lightly tracing the firm lines of his chest.

She knew Suzuki didn't actually have to sacrifice himself to save Nagumo. If she had to make the choice, even if it sounded incredibly cruel, she would have vastly preferred Nagumo falling into the abyss over Suzuki. Society might call her a monster for thinking that, but Suzuki was her entire world. Everyone else was secondary.

"The absolute choice in that split second was between Nagumo and myself," Suzuki replied calmly, his hand gently stroking Kaori's bare back. "I knew that Nagumo wouldn't survive the fall. But I knew I could. So, I took the jump."

"...What a complete burden," Kaori muttered darkly, resting her chin on his chest, her eyes narrowing slightly.

"Don't say that," Suzuki chuckled, genuinely amused by Kaori's ruthless shift in personality. "Didn't you promise Nagumo that you would protect him? Just last week, you were so worried about him."

"...I'm sorry, but I just can't help it," Kaori pouted, her smooth palms moving against his firm body in a light, lingering, intensely possessive stroke. "He's just so incredibly useless compared to you."

While Suzuki didn't really want to debate the usefulness of their classmates while completely naked, the girls' wandering hands were making it impossible to focus on logistics.

"This thing has definitely become much more powerful somehow," Shizuku murmured, her hand wrapping gently but firmly around his heavily roused length, marveling at the sheer heat and terrifying hardness of it.

"..." Suzuki let out a low, shuddering breath.

Of course it was stronger. Between integrating the [God Crystal] and the [Subdermal Diamond Hide], his entire physical biology had been massively upgraded. If he hadn't actively engaged the [Manager] AI to meticulously suppress his raw strength during their lovemaking, he would have likely wrecked their fragile bodies.

Shizuku's superhuman Swordmaster stats could take the punishment, but Kaori was a Priest. While technically a combatant class, her physical defense was incredibly low. This was exactly why Shizuku always let Kaori take the first round. Kaori exhausted easily, and once she was spent, Shizuku could entirely monopolize Suzuki's terrifying stamina, deeply enjoying the sight of Kaori watching them with heavy, envious eyes.

"...Did you just think something incredibly rude, Shizuku?" Kaori asked, her eyes narrowing suspiciously.

"No."

"You're a liar! You're making that face! You must be thinking something totally perverted!"

"I am not."

"...Can you two please focus for one minute?" Suzuki sighed, gently squeezing Kaori's hips to stop her squirming. "We need to talk about the expedition. What exactly is everyone doing right now?"

Suzuki's strategy was perfectly clear. But he wasn't up there to physically watch over Kaori and Shizuku. He knew exactly how recklessly delusional Kouki was, and how fundamentally stupid the majority of their classmates were.

And, even though it sounded cruel, Suzuki fully agreed with the girls' assessment: Nagumo was a massive liability.

Nagumo possessed a non-combatant job. If he had simply stayed back at the royal castle like a smart civilian, no one would have judged him. Even Aiko-sensei—who also possessed a non-combatant Farmer class—had begged Nagumo to stay behind in the safety of the capital.

But what did Nagumo do?

"I am sorry, Sensei! But I have to go! I know my power might not be enough, but... I will find my own role down there!"

While the naive teenagers thought Nagumo's declaration sounded heroic and cool, Suzuki viewed it as sheer, unadulterated stupidity. It was entirely obvious Nagumo was going to be a burden on the frontlines, yet he forced his way into the raid anyway. And who was expected to protect him? The girls.

Fortunately, Suzuki had been there to manage the disaster. But what if he hadn't been? He was absolutely certain Nagumo would have tried to act like a vanguard fighter, charging forward to use his transmutation skills, only to get instantly slaughtered.

Suzuki honestly didn't care about Nagumo's bruised ego. He had already saved the boy's life. If Nagumo refused to accept his limitations and continued to act recklessly, Suzuki wouldn't waste another calorie bailing him out.

His only real concern was the safety of the two women currently straddling him.

"Well..." Shizuku sighed, the annoyance evident in her voice. "Right after you fell, Kouki instantly tried to take command of the vanguard again."

"That delusional idiot," Suzuki muttered.

"But fortunately, Captain Meld aggressively took charge and ordered an immediate retreat."

"Oh?" Suzuki raised an eyebrow, slightly impressed. "That's a surprisingly rational decision for a knight."

"Is it?" both girls asked, tilting their heads in confusion.

"Of course," Suzuki smirked, amusement flashing in his eyes. "I am holding the majority of their food, their clean water, their high-grade potions, and their portable toilets in my spatial storage."

"....."

Shizuku and Kaori stared at him in absolute silence.

When they heard his perfectly logical answer, they realized exactly how incredibly, breathtakingly stupid Kouki was for wanting to keep fighting. If they had pushed deeper into the labyrinth without Suzuki's logistics, they would have literally starved to death or died of dehydration within days.

"...If Kouki was actually in charge, every single one of them would be dead by Friday," Shizuku muttered, horrified by the realization.

"They won't die," Suzuki reassured her calmly.

"Really?"

"Yes. Kouki has completely lost control of the group."

"Ah." Both girls nodded in sudden understanding.

Before the boss fight, the class had tolerated Kouki because he was the shiny, golden "Hero." But after watching Kouki freeze in terror while Suzuki flawlessly orchestrated the boss's execution? The illusion was shattered. A few sycophants might still blindly follow Kouki, but the majority of the class would undoubtedly side with the pragmatic, veteran leadership of Captain Meld.

"If you return to the surface right now, it will be perfect," Kaori smiled, leaning down to kiss his jaw. "Yeah! Everyone is desperately waiting for you to come back and lead them."

The two girls genuinely couldn't imagine how the fragile class could properly function without Suzuki pulling the strings. They wanted him to return to the surface immediately.

But—

"I'm sorry," Suzuki said, his voice completely flat and unyielding. "But I have absolutely no intention of going back up there."

"...."

Shizuku and Kaori froze entirely.
