Chapter 89 - Chapter 89 — “Built Again, Louder Than Before”

Year X784 — Early Summer

Location: Magnolia · Fairy Tail Guild (Reconstruction Period)

Ages: Ren (19) · Erza (19) · Mira (19) · Juvia (17) · Lucy (17)

---

If Fairy Tail was good at anything, it was turning disasters into excuses for chaos.

The ruined guild hall didn't stay ruined for long.

By the next morning, Magnolia woke to shouting, hammering, magic flares, and at least three separate arguments about who broke what first.

"WHY IS THE ROOF ON FIRE?!" Makarov roared.

"IT'S FASTER THIS WAY!" Natsu yelled back, already half-burned.

Gray dumped a bucket of water on him. "You're an idiot."

"I'M HELPING!"

"You're helping it burn!"

Ren stood in the middle of it all, sleeves rolled up, quietly reinforcing beams with layered enchantments—sigils blooming briefly before sinking into wood and stone.

> Structural integrity: 62%… 71%… 83%.

Great Sage hummed with satisfaction.

> [Great Sage: Suggestion — Emotional stabilization via communal labor is effective.]

Ren glanced sideways as Erza lifted an entire collapsed wall section like it weighed nothing.

"…You don't say."

---

Erza POV

Erza worked in silence—focused, precise, furious.

Not at Phantom Lord.

At the fact that someone dared touch Fairy Tail.

She drove iron stakes into the foundation with frightening accuracy, eyes sharp, jaw set.

Ren approached, holding a reinforced beam.

"…You've been doing that since dawn," he said gently.

"I'll stop when it's perfect," she replied flatly.

He watched her a moment—then smiled.

"…It already is."

She froze.

Slowly, she turned.

"…Say that again."

Ren didn't back down. "The guild. It's perfect because of the people. Not the walls."

Her expression cracked—just a little.

"…You're dangerous when you say things like that," she muttered.

"Only to myself."

She huffed, then—very carefully—took the beam from him.

"…Stay close," she added, quieter.

Ren did.

---

Mira POV

Mira was rebuilding the bar.

Which meant she was smiling sweetly while casually terrifying anyone who tried to slack off.

"Elfman~," she sang. "If you drop that again, I'll throw you."

Elfman gulped. "MANLY RESPONSE ACCEPTED!"

Across the room, Juvia was cleaning debris with elegant waves of water magic, movements smoother than ever—controlled, confident.

Ren passed by, handing Mira a crate of polished glasses.

"You didn't have to enchant these," she said.

"They'll never chip," he replied. "Figured you'd like that."

Mira's eyes softened.

"…You're unfair, you know that?"

He tilted his head. "How so?"

"You do nice things without expecting anything."

She leaned in just a bit. "…It makes people want to give you things back."

From across the room—

Erza's stare sharpened.

Juvia's water rippled dangerously.

Ren felt it.

"…Ah."

---

Guild POV — Jealousy, Loudly

"Is it just me," Cana slurred from atop a half-built table, "or is Ren collecting women like rare cards?"

"HEY!" Natsu shouted. "That's not fair!"

"Why?" Lucy asked.

"Because he doesn't even try!"

Gray snorted. "That's worse."

Levy adjusted her glasses. "Statistically, it is unusual."

"Juvia is not part of a collection!" Juvia snapped instantly. "…Juvia simply… appreciates Ren's presence."

"…That sounded like a confession," Lucy whispered.

"It was NOT!"

Ren chose that moment to pass by.

"…Do I need to apologize for something?" he asked innocently.

Four glares hit him at once.

"…What did I do?"

Erza crossed her arms. "You exist."

Mira smiled sweetly. "And you're charming."

Juvia nodded fiercely. "And kind."

Ren sighed. "…I'm doomed."

Slice of Life — Rebuilding Turns Personal

As the day wore on, the guild hall took shape again—bigger, sturdier, brighter.

Ren etched layered barrier enchantments into the walls.

Erza tested them—violently.

Mira adjusted lighting, humming softly.

Juvia brought drinks, snacks, and emotional support—sometimes all at once.

By evening, the main hall stood complete.

Makarov looked around, chest swelling.

"…Good," he said simply.

Then—

"PARTY TIME!" Natsu screamed.

---

Night — Romance in the Noise

Music blasted.

Tables reappeared (somehow).

Food multiplied.

Lucy danced with Cana.

Gray and Natsu fought without destroying anything (miracle).

Ren found himself pulled into the center by Mira—

"No excuses," she said, smiling. "You helped rebuild. You celebrate."

Erza joined them moments later, arms folded but eyes warm.

Juvia hovered close, cheeks pink, raincloud gone.

Ren laughed—real, easy.

"This feels… right," he admitted.

Erza nodded. "…It does."

Mira leaned closer. "Careful. Say that too often and people will get ideas."

Juvia clasped her hands. "Juvia already has ideas."

Ren nearly choked on his drink.

Across the room, the guild watched.

Jealous. Amused. Fond.

Because Fairy Tail wasn't just rebuilt.

It was alive again.

Louder.

Stronger.

And bound together—

not by walls—

—but by the people who refused to let it fall. 🌸🔥
