Chapter 75 - Chapter 70: The Tyrant's Body and the Baseball Game

"Ah, lol."

"Looks like we've been exposed."

The dilapidated attic door opened. White Zetsu (Number One) swept a playful gaze over the group of terrified sorcerers.

"But if I kill you all... then I shouldn't be considered exposed, right?"

"Who goes there?!" A Kamo sorcerer roared. He drew his weapon.

SPLAT.

A second later, his head exploded.

"The Academy is raising useless people," Zetsu sighed, taking the katana from the corpse. "I almost forgot... I'm actually quite strong!"

Meeting the horrified gazes of the crowd, Zetsu grinned maliciously.

WHOOSH.

Light footsteps. Before the main force could react, another mage collapsed in a pool of blood. Inhuman speed. Zetsu ducked and slid, the blade flashing at his waist. He cut a person in half, then swept the blade around in a circle.

Tonight, the Bloody Art of Murder was unveiled at the Kamo Headquarters.

...

A thousand meters up, Mirai's scarlet pupils pierced through the barrier. He watched the entire performance.

Without a doubt, the body White Zetsu was controlling was Toji Fushiguro—the man who died at the hands of Gojo Satoru ten years ago. Mirai had spent a lot of effort finding Toji's remains. He used the Divine Tree and the blood of tens of thousands of Cursed Spirits to repair the missing parts.

Why didn't Toji's soul take over? Because the quality of the Divine Tree (White Zetsu) surpasses Toji's body. The Heavenly Tyrant is powerful... but he is no match for the God Tree capable of devouring worlds.

...

The barrier dissipated. Moonlight shone on a courtyard filled with corpses. Naobito Zenin stared at Zetsu. I see him... but I don't sense any Cursed Energy.

"What... is that?"

"What are you saying, Old Man?" Zetsu tossed a bag at him. "The Cursed Artifacts and Intel. Mirai-boy wanted them. Take them."

"I didn't put in any effort, yet you take the benefits," Zetsu complained.

"Stop being cheeky," Mirai descended from the sky. "It's impressive you can move that body so well. But if that Old Fox (Kenjaku) finds out, it could be trouble."

"Naobito. Jinichi." Mirai turned to the Zenin elders. "Notify the clan. We are moving. The original estate is abandoned. Assemble at the Star Religious Group in Shinjuku."

"Great location," Zetsu grinned. "Hundreds of thousands of human believers. Even Gojo Satoru wouldn't dare attack us there openly."

"Number One," Mirai looked at Zetsu. "You shouldn't show yourself for now."

WARP.

Mirai activated Kamui. The void swallowed Number One (Toji-Zetsu).

Inside the Kamui Dimension.

Number One rubbed his butt. "He used me and threw me away. Scumbag."

He looked up at the towering Divine Tree. At the foot of the tree, a sorcerer was firmly imprisoned by roots. "Hey," Zetsu grinned. "Long time no see."

...

The Next Day. The Exchange Event.

At Gojo's whim, the Individual Battle was changed to Baseball. The atmosphere warmed up. The students bonded over the game. But then, Utahime arrived with a grave expression. She walked up to the Kyoto students, her eyes fixing on Noritoshi Kamo.

"Teacher," Noritoshi asked, sensing something wrong. "Please tell me directly."

"Last night," Utahime said softly. "The Kamo Family... all personnel were confirmed dead. The suspect... is Zenin Mirai."

THUMP.

Noritoshi stood frozen. My goal... becoming the Head to welcome my mother back... Gone?

"Was it that guy?!" Noritoshi strode toward the sidelines, grabbing the collar of the White Zetsu lounging on a chair. "WHY?! Why did he destroy the Kamo Family?!"

"What are you yelling about?" Zetsu picked his ear, annoyed. "It wasn't Mirai-boy. It was Master Zetsu! I soloed them!"

"LIAR!" Noritoshi's face twisted with rage. "A Grade 4 Curse wiping out a Great Family?! Don't insult me!"

The Tokyo students blocked him. Utahime pulled him back. Everyone glared at Zetsu, assuming he was covering for his master. Zetsu looked sullen.

"I told you the truth," he muttered. "I really did it."

These days... nobody believes an honest Cursed Spirit.
