Chapter 79 - Chapter 74: The Final Warning and the Meat Shields

[AUTHOR NOTE: I emailed patreon again on Sunday for my data after not getting any answers from them. A guy from their support team emailed me saying my patreon account is back(I shared screenshot on discord). He gave me my account back. The problem was with the woman that reviewed my account first time and also the one that reported my account(I still don't know who?). Thanks for the support guys. My friends say that people on webnovel are toxic but I have gotten much support from here and wattpad too. I gave patreon members one month gift membership because they weren't able to access it during my account ban. If I forgot someone. Message me on patreon. Have a good day guys.]

Outside the Barrier.

"Thirteenth Sister... Maki's niece."

A mosquito-sized mechanical insect flew toward the group the instant Nanami led his team to the edge of the barrier.

"White Zetsu?!"

Everyone immediately recognized the annoying tone.

"Tsk. Although it's pretty useless," the mechanical insect flapped its delicate wings and landed on Maki's shoulder. "Master Zetsu will still say it once."

"You should all go back. This city will soon become Hell."

"This is not a war you can participate in. Not just Shibuya... I suggest you leave Japan."

"Really."

Nanami adjusted his glasses, his expression solemn. "So, Zenin Mirai is also a participant in this event."

The warning completely extinguished their last glimmer of hope that Mirai was innocent.

"Mama's Boy!"

Nobara slowly rolled up her sleeves and grabbed the flying insect in her hand.

"You dare to look down on us? How much do you think you're worth?!"

Facing her angry glare, the voice from the insect became unusually serious.

"Master Zetsu is sincere."

"Ahead... lies Hell."

"Stop talking, White Zetsu." Maki said resolutely. "I'm not going to slink away with my tail between my legs."

"Even if I have to face... Mirai-san."

"I appreciate your kind offer, but I cannot accept it."

Nanami loosened his tie, his eyes resolute.

He had no grand ambition to save the world. But he was a Sorcerer. He followed his heart.

"Alright. I knew you would make this choice."

With a regretful sigh, the light in the mechanical insect's eyes dimmed completely. It powered down.

...

On the rooftop of a steel skyscraper, a fierce evening wind raged.

"A secret affection? Or a perverse sense of humor?"

Mirai looked down at the writhing crowd below, speaking softly.

"Although Curses are born from negative human emotions, Master Zetsu is an exception."

White Zetsu (now occupying Kokichi Muta's body) teased the Caterpillar Curse on his shoulder. "It's normal for me to lean toward humans."

"After all," Zetsu grinned. "I only absorb pure Cursed Energy from the Divine Tree."

"Those negative emotions that were stripped away... weren't they all absorbed by you?"

"Wrong," Mirai replied. "To be precise... they were absorbed by my eyes."

Mirai vanished from the spot, teleporting to his designated location.

But just before he disappeared, the moonlight caught his scarlet pupils. Faintly shimmering within the red were milky white ripple patterns.

The Rinnegan was awakening.

Zetsu swept his gaze across the empty rooftop. He pulled hundreds of mechanical flying insects from the Caterpillar's mouth.

He had spent ten days fully taking control of Mechamaru's body.

Through the infusion of power from the Gedo Mazo, White Zetsu's current Cursed Energy reserve was terrifying.

It was equivalent to five thousand years of accumulation.

...

Shibuya Station. B5F.

The fifth basement level was packed. The crowd was as dense as an anthill.

Gojo Satoru floated down the stairs.

Pushing aside the panicking crowd without any restraint, he walked with his hands in his pockets toward the center of the platform.

"How disappointing."

"Just you two small fry?"

Gojo looked at the Volcano Head (Jogo) and the Death Painting Womb (Choso).

Feeling the absolute pressure emanating from Gojo, a hint of tension surfaced in Jogo's single eye.

Damn Kenjaku! Damn Zenin Mirai!

They promised there would be no problem! Where are they?!

BOOM!

With a single flick of his finger, Jogo ignited three people on the edge of the platform. They burst into flames, screaming in agony.

"Don't even think about escaping, Gojo Satoru!"

"If you leave... all the humans here will die!"

A thick stream of flames rose from Jogo's palm. Uttering harsh words, the Special Grade Curse cowardly fled into the dense crowd.

"Tch. What a hassle."

Gojo leaned forward and suddenly crashed into the crowd, chasing him.

...

Deep inside the subway tunnel, hidden in the shadows.

"Aren't you being too cautious?" Kenjaku asked, his eyes gleaming in the dark. "Waiting for Jogo to make the first move?"

A crimson glint flashed in the darkness beside him.

"Making a move a little later doesn't violate our Binding Vow," Mirai replied softly. "Let's treat this as an appetizer. Let Jogo pad his combat record."

Kenjaku smiled. "If Hanami hadn't died at your hands... you wouldn't need to intervene today."

"Thinking too much causes brain atrophy," Mirai's tone turned cold.

"Is that so? Then consider me nosy."

The two masterminds chatted casually while watching the action blockbuster on the platform, much like moviegoers eating popcorn.

...

SQUELCH!

"Pfft!"

Jogo stared in horror as his right arm was easily torn off by Gojo Satoru.

This wasn't an action movie. This was a horror movie. And Jogo was the victim.

"Piercing Blood!"

Choso fired a crimson line of highly compressed blood at supersonic speed.

It pierced straight through the heads of three screaming humans before striking Gojo.

SIZZLE.

The blood splashed against an invisible wall. Infinity.

The Kamo family's ancestral technique was completely useless. But it did distract Gojo for a split second.

BOOM!

Jogo seized the opportunity, igniting another group of civilians in the distance.

The panicked crowd, unable to see the Curses clearly, ran around like headless flies, constantly crowding Gojo and blocking his path.

"Ah!!!"

Gojo tossed panicking humans into the air one by one, gently landing them behind him to clear a path.

He could accept Curses killing ordinary humans. But he absolutely refused to kill them himself.

The dense crowd was countless stumbling blocks. Time and again, they helped Jogo escape a deadly blow.

But Jogo was terrified.

The fewer humans there were as meat shields... the wider Gojo's scope of action became.

To seal Gojo's Domain Expansion (Unlimited Void), Jogo needed to ensure the humans didn't all die too quickly.

Jogo glanced over his shoulder. The white-haired demon was inches away.

"THEY'RE NOT HERE YET?!"

The premonition of death overwhelmed Jogo. He roared with all his might.

At the same time...

Gojo Satoru ripped off his blindfold.

His Six Eyes snapped toward the dark tunnel behind him.

"You've come!"
