Chapter 40 - Whirlpool Empire cap 40

Tsuji Uzumaki could see the entire terrain on the screen in front of him.

At an altitude of tens of kilometers, above the clouds, and with optical camouflage, no one from the enemy could sense or see the position of his ship.

Therefore, they were relatively safe unless an unknown enemy appeared with the ability to reach them.

Of course, even then the flying ship could defend itself and attack if that event were to occur.

In the command room, Tsuji and many other soldiers watched the screen and discovered the traps set by the enemy.

And when the Uzumaki army on the ground approached the first trap in their path, Tsuji immediately ordered them to stop.

In addition to letting them rest after a journey of several kilometers, they had to watch out for the enemy having no other hidden plans that had not been detected by the ship's computer.

As they watched the image of the enemy general on the screen maintaining leadership of the samurai army and refusing to attack first, hoping the Uzumaki army would fall into the trap, and listening to his words, they knew there was no other hidden plan.

While one of the soldiers in the room communicated with the army on the ground to warn them about the area covered with explosive tags, Tsuji wondered if the patriarch had used this espionage system in the land of the whirlpool.

Demonstrating the ability to pass through walls and dozens of meters underground, being able to see and hear any enemy, Tsuji had concerns about whether his group's secret meetings had truly been secret.

When the Patriarch showed them this espionage system installed on each ship, inspired by the Hyuga clan's byakugan and improved according to the Patriarch's own words, Tsuji could see the panic on the faces of several of his companions.

Only the patriarch's relaxed demeanor somewhat calmed everyone's unease, as they thought that the patriarch had recently created this espionage system and had not yet discovered any of their plans.

Therefore, they quickly communicated through secret signals, informing that they would not hold secret meetings until further notice.

Of course, Tsuji still felt that something was wrong.

While he was lost in thought, the screen showed movements in the Uzumaki army.

A few figures moved quickly and reached the area filled with explosive tags.

What was remarkable about these people was that they were not visible to the enemy, and those on the ship could only see them because of the spy system.

Within minutes, the invisible figures seemed to have finished their work, for they immediately returned to their places in the Uzumaki army and…

¡BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A huge explosion occurred and the spy system changed its viewpoint to capture the entire battlefield, including the enormous cloud of fire on one screen and the surprised face of the samurai general on another.

After the explosion, the Uzumaki army began to move after having rested sufficiently.

A group of them went ahead and used a wind jutsu to push away the dust and smoke resulting from the explosion, and the rest of the army followed them when they received confirmation that there were no more traps in their path.

"Withdrawal!"

Taken by surprise by the explosion, the samurai general immediately shouted for his men to retreat.

Immediately all the samurai turned around and retreated at full speed.

The Uzumaki army, for its part, took its time and advanced at a steady pace, relying on its scouts and the messages they received from the airship about the absence of traps or ambushes.

While the Uzumaki were moving at a slow pace, the samurai were the first to arrive tired at the next checkpoint a few hours later and met up with another army of 1000 men.

But these 1000 men were ninjas.

200 ninjas from the Cloud Village and 800 ninjas from clans working for the Lightning Daimyo.

Of course, these 2000 assembled men were not tasked with defeating the Uzumaki army.

Their true duty was to delay them, annoy them, and harass them with surprise attacks.

Since the Uzumaki clan had previously locked themselves in the city of Sakai, they could not have a larger number of men waiting at all times.

It was too much money spent every day, and it pained the Daimyo to afford such an expense.

Therefore, they had devised a plan to hold off the enemy for as long as possible with the fewest men while the land of lightning and the village of cloud reacted.

As long as they can hold off the Uzumaki army for a few days, they will be able to receive support from the Daimyo's Samurai army and ninjas from the Cloud Village.

Of course, they were not the only participants in this task.

In the nearby cities there are more groups of samurai and ninja like them who headed here when the war alert arrived, with the aim of harassing the invading army and waiting for help from the country and the village.

The 2,000 men waited nervously for the enemy, but hours passed and the enemy did not appear in sight.

Confused, they wondered if the enemy knew of their plans and returned to the city of Sakai.

It was 6 hours later when the Uzumaki army appeared in sight, and again they stopped before starting the battle.

When they saw the enemy army, the Uzumaki stopped to rest, as they had been doing for the past few hours during their journey so they would be rested when the battle began.

And when they had rested enough, they prepared to move forward.

And at that very moment, the enemy army did not advance to fight.

Instead, they dispersed into several groups and went far away.

Since the ship in the air had confirmed the absence of traps, they were able to proceed without problems.

But after 20 minutes, the ship in the air reported the movements of the enemy army.

In addition to surrounding them, the enemy army split into groups and several of them approached.

Their plans soon became clear.

They just wanted to harass them and would back away when the Uzumaki defended themselves.

The enemy's surprise attacks would be extremely annoying for any enemy.

But what about for the Uzumaki army?

Unfortunately for the enemy, these tactics were not going to work against the Uzumaki clan.

Receiving the information from the ship in the air, the commander of the Uzumaki army on the ground gave his orders.

And within the next hour, 90% of the enemy harassment groups had been eliminated.

And because they did not have a proper communication system, the enemy did not stop until it was too late.

When they saw the Uzumaki clan advancing rapidly without hindrance, the enemy realized their attacks weren't working too late.

The Uzumaki clan arrived in Kaminarioka City one day later and found the army stationed in the city and other battalions stationed in nearby cities that had just arrived.

But since they were mostly civilians recruited by the Daimyo in recent months, they were logically no match for the Uzumaki army.

Within 2 hours, the city of Kaminarioka had been occupied by the enemy.

And when the true Samurai army of the Lightning Daimyo and the ninjas of the village arrived, they cursed when they saw the enormous barrier surrounding the city of Kaminarioka.

Just like the city of Kaminarioka, two other cities near Akizuki City in the Land of Wind and Iwakura City in the Land of Earth had been occupied by the Uzumaki clan, taking the continent by surprise once again.

During the past few weeks, information had spread that only Gin Uzumaki was strong in the Uzumaki clan, so the Uzumaki clan relied only on surprise attacks and barriers to maintain control of 3 cities, but without the ability to do anything else.

Therefore, many ignorant civilians expected the Uzumaki clan to be expelled soon.

But suddenly, the Uzumaki clan captured 3 more cities without the great countries and great villages being able to do anything.

It was like a slap in the face to the great countries and villages that claimed to have everything under control.

And just as they came out to declare that they were preparing to reclaim the 6 cities, the Uzumaki clan did not remain still as they thought and attacked again.

In contrast to before when they encountered no notable opposition, this time the Uzumaki army faced 3 trained armies of Samurai and Ninjas.

And in a short time, it was shown why the Uzumaki ninja were to be feared.

After the Uzumaki clan took over another city within their countries, the Daimyo learned their lesson and had to part with some money to maintain an army of samurai and ninjas outside the cities taken over by the Uzumaki clan.

Biting their lips in anger, the Daimyo were already preparing to spend a lot of money before the Uzumaki clan attacked again.
