Adonis grabbed the thick, glowing ropes of the electric net. The blue lightning bit into his silver gloves, but he ignored the pain. With a mighty pull, he ripped the net apart like it was nothing but a fragile spiderweb. He jumped back to his feet, shielding Nikki behind his wide body.
One of the silver drones swooped down, trying to grab them. Adonis didn't shoot it. He reached out with his massive hand, snatched the flying metal eyeball right out of the air, and smashed it against a giant boulder. The drone crumpled into pieces.
"We have to walk from here!" Adonis shouted over the buzzing wind. He crushed another drone with a heavy swing of his fist. "The lightning nets ate too much of my inner fire! I have to save the rest of my energy, or we will never make it to the hidden door!"
