Jaster let out a tired sigh.
I forgot—law enforcement are useless in fiction.
He looked back and saw Stella frozen in one spot. "Hey, Stella, are you okay?" He waved his hand in front of her face.
"That snake... It stared at me last time!" She spoke while touching her eyelid, then looked at Jaster.
"How did it not freeze me?" Jaster couldn't give her a solid answer either, but he did get his question answered after the SWAT got crystallized by the snake.
He peeked at the serpent and smirked. He mumbled, barely audible so Stella couldn't hear him. "This is good. That means the snake is following Greek mythology!"
Stella couldn't exactly hear what he said, but she faintly caught "Greek mythology." Confused, she was about to ask Jaster what it meant, until a guy burst out of the café.
Their eyes widened. They looked toward the café and saw the man screaming at the waitress in front of the door. Then he sprinted away from the cafe, heading toward the opposite side of the basilisk.
