Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: Revival Ticket

That should not have been said so plainly but it was.

Luna just looked at him for a second, then shook her head slightly, smiling faintly.

And from the edge of the den there was movement.

Archer he had left at some point no one had noticed when and no one had stopped him but now he was back, carrying some things. Food and small bundles of cloth something that glinted faintly gems? smooth and polished, likely for the cubs.

He set them down without a word and didn't interrupt or step too close just… added to the space then left again and again, Each time with more.

Alo and Ash didn't stop him and didn't question it, they were too focused and way too occupied too… content.

Theo noticed of course he did, his gaze tracked Archer every time he entered, every time he left, silent, measuring, storing.

Luna looked up at him once as he passed again "you can relax," she told him.

"No."

She smiled anyway because of course not because none of them could not really not with this and the cubs and never with her and definitely not with what sat in her arms, breathing softly, warm and alive and entirely theirs. Luna leaned back slightly, adjusting just enough to hold them all more comfortably, her head tipping back against the stone wall behind her, her eyes drifted closed and for that moment nothing else existed.

Alo had taken Charlotte without asking, and Luna had let him, not because she didn't want her, not because she felt replaced, but because there were too many small, fragile, breathing things in her arms now for one person to hold alone, and Alo had stepped in with quiet certainty and steady hands and taken one piece of the weight without making it feel like a loss. Charlotte had gone with him easily, and that was the part Luna noticed most, no fear, no hesitation, just a small glance back, quick and checking, making sure Luna was still there, and then she settled, tucked into Alo's side like she had always belonged there too. Now she sat wrapped in soft cloth, hair brushed gently back, small hands turning one of the smooth polished stones Archer had brought in, focused in that deep, quiet way children had, but every few seconds her eyes flicked back to Luna, still anchoring herself, still choosing her even while held by someone else, even her father

Luna saw it every time, and something in her chest softened instead of tightening, because it meant Charlotte wasn't slipping away, she was expanding, her world getting bigger, safer, fuller. "You're doing a good job, you know that?" Luna said quietly, her voice still soft from everything that had happened, still carrying the warmth of tears and laughter and exhaustion all tangled together.

Alo didn't respond immediately, she adjusted Charlotte's blanket first, smoothing it carefully, then brushed a stray curl from her cheek, only then did she look up, her expression composed but not distant. "I should be," she said, and Luna shook her head slightly. "That's not what I said." Alo held her gaze for a moment longer, something shifting subtly in her eyes, not soft exactly, but less sharp, less braced. "I know," she said, and that was enough.

Luna shifted slightly where she sat, her body already molded around the shape of what she held, the weight of them constant now, grounding, overwhelming, perfect. Three. She had three daughters, Even thinking it still felt unreal, like if she looked away too long something might change. one of her son's lay close beside her, still asleep, small body curled into the blankets, one tiny wing twitching every now and then, his face calm but somehow already holding that same quiet confidence she had noticed the moment he was born. "You think you're strong," Luna murmured softly, brushing her fingers over his head, careful not to wake him.

Her gaze shifted, softening further as it landed on the girl resting against her shoulder. Marie her golden curls had dried into delicate spirals, framing her face like something out of a story, her breathing slow and even, her tiny wings folded neatly, her small hand resting lightly against Luna's collarbone as if she had always known that was where she belonged. "Marie," Luna whispered again, grounding it, anchoring it.

Sprout hummed approvingly.

Then her attention dropped again, to the one still feeding, of course still feeding. Elizabeth Lizzie. Luna exhaled slowly, her body adjusting again to the pull, to the steady, insistent rhythm of it, Lizzie latched like she had something to prove, no hesitation, no softness, just need and certainty and refusal to compromise.

"You're not even trying to be gentle," Luna murmured, and Lizzie did not care, her tiny golden tail flicked once, her wings twitched, her hand pressed harder, and Luna winced slightly, adjusting her carefully, cradling her head, easing her just enough to make it bearable. "You're a lot," she whispered. Sprout sounded delighted. She's going to run everything. "She's going to ruin me."

Her body ached, not sharply, not painfully, but constantly, a deep, persistent awareness of everything she was now, her breasts heavy, full, still adjusting, still responding to every small sound, every shift, every need, even now, with Lizzie feeding and Marie asleep and the others settled, her body was already preparing again, and it was overwhelming and grounding and too much and not enough all at once. She leaned back slightly, letting herself feel it, letting it settle.

Then Sprout's voice cut through again, bright and urgent.

SHOPPING TIME

'Okay' Luna sighed softly.

OKAY WHAT? WE'RE BUYING EVERYTHING

Luna stilled. '…everything?'

Everything Luna looked down at them, at how small they were, at how fragile, at how much depended on her now, and her fingers tightened slightly around Marie.

'…yes,' she thought 'Everything.'

SPROUT SPARKLED WITH EXCITEMENT. YES!

The system responded immediately,

[Golden Revival Ticket – Purchased]

[Effect Applied: All bonded offspring granted +1 life]

Luna felt it, not physically, not visibly, but undeniably, something settled over them, something vast and quiet and absolute, like a promise written into the fabric of everything. Her breath caught. '…they're safer.'

YES, SPROUT RESPONDED WITH A WARMTH THAT WRAPPED AROUND HER LIKE A BLANKET THEY ARE.

Luna swallowed hard, her arms tightening instinctively around them. 'Good,' she whispered.

The next item appeared.

[Accelerated Growth Ticket – Purchased] [Effect Applied: Offspring maturation reduced to 12 years]

Luna hesitated, her gaze softening 'They'll grow faster' They'll be strong sooner. Luna looked down again, at how small they were, at how perfect this moment was, at how much she wanted to keep them like this forever, and still, she nodded faintly. "…okay." Because strong mattered.

The third item.

[Mother's Strength Buff – Purchased]

[Effect Applied: Physical strength increased. Minor healing ability unlocked]

It settled into her immediately, a shift under her skin, her body lighter, stronger, the ache easing, her arms steadier, her back no longer straining under the weight, she flexed her fingers slightly, surprised by how easy it felt. "…that's better."

TOLD YOU.

The fourth item appeared, and Sprout was practically vibrating.

DO IT.

Luna sighed softly. "…fine."

[Primal Scent Aura – Purchased]

[Effect Applied: Passive aura active]

The change was immediate, warmth spreading outward from her, not overwhelming, not sharp, just present, soft, comforting, milk, cubs, safety, something deeper under it that bypassed thought entirely and settled straight into instinct.

Alo went still. Ash's head turned Theo's gaze sharpened

Archer paused mid-step.

Luna froze. "…that is not subtle" nope.

"That is not good."

THAT IS EXCELLENT.

Luna ignored her her attention dropped back to the babies immediately, and the reaction was instant. Marie shifted closer in her sleep, her small hand tightening slightly. Lizzie pressed deeper against her, her feeding slowing into something more content. The smallest curled tighter into her side. Charlotte leaned toward her from Alo's arms, reaching, and Alo let her go without hesitation. Charlotte pressed into Luna's side, immediately calmer, immediately settled. The phoenix chicks followed, of course they did, small bodies tucking close, quieting instantly.

Everything gathered and everything chose her.

Luna swallowed. "…okay."

Ash stepped closer, slow, careful, like approaching something he didn't want to disturb, his hand coming to rest against her shoulder, then sliding lower, her back, steady, grounding, claiming without force.

Luna looked up at him, her voice soft "hey… come here for a second. I just want to look at you." He was already there. She studied him quietly "i trust you." Something in him shifted, deeper, more permanent, his hand pressing slightly more firmly against her back.

A soft, impatient little wiggle against her shoulder, followed by a faint protesting sound that didn't quite turn into a cry. Luna looked down immediately, her attention snapping fully back to the weight in her arms, and saw the problem at once. Marie's tiny golden wings had pushed halfway out of the silk onesie, one arm already free, the soft ribbon ties loosened by sheer stubborn movement.

"Oh," Luna breathed, a laugh slipping into her voice before she could stop it. "Oh, you're already escaping."

Marie made a small, pleased noise as if confirmed.

Beside her, Lizzie shifted, not gently she wasnt the type for gentle. Her little body twisted with far more intent, her wings catching on the fabric, her golden tail flicking sharply in irritation. She made an annoyed sound, one that was already more opinionated than anything so small had a right to be, and shoved harder against the silk.

The fabric lost.

Luna watched, blinking, as Lizzie's arm popped free, then her other, the soft pink silk bunching uselessly around her middle as she wriggled with full determination "…you too?" Luna murmured, her voice warm with disbelief.
