The velociraptor charged forward with pounding steps and slammed into its target with a fierce tackle. Yugen's face-down monster flipped over, revealing a six-armed mage, and the moment it was flipped, a burst of golden Arcane Pulse light spread from its body.
"You attacked a monster, so it's 'Magical Merchant,'" Yugen said. "When this card is flipped, I reveal cards from the top of my Deck until a Spell or Trap Card appears.
The first Spell or Trap Card I reveal is added to my hand, and all the rest are sent to the Graveyard."
He began flipping cards from the top of the Deck. Four Monster cards appeared in a row, and the fifth was a Spell.
Spell Card "Ojama Magic."
Not getting something like Pot of Greed or Dark Hole was a little disappointing, but this was fine too. "Then I'll add 'Ojama Magic' to my hand."
The Spell Card went into his hand, and at the same time, the charging dinosaur smashed the tiny magical merchant into a tumble. It turned into particles of light and left the field.
"Then Battle Ox attacks directly!" Daihara ordered.
If this worked, he would seize the lead and deal heavy damage on the very first turn. Over the past two days, he and Kohara had been winning again and again in their cooperative Duels, and that had given him real confidence.
"Then by discarding one card from my hand, I activate this Trap Card."
Yugen discarded one card from his hand to the Graveyard, and his set card flipped open at once. "Trap Card - Karma Cut!"
The two-man team led by Kohara was stunned. They knew this powerful Trap Card, a famous removal trap against beatdown monsters.
"Discard one card, then banish one Monster on the opponent's field and all cards with the same name in their Graveyard."
"Banish 'Battle Ox'!"
As the trap activated, a transparent wave covered the huge Beast-Warrior that was swinging its bone club to attack. In the next second, it was dragged into a vortex in the Dimension and vanished from the field.
"And the card I just discarded was 'Ojama Magic,'" Yugen said. "When Ojama Magic is sent to the Graveyard, I can add one each of 'Ojama Green', 'Ojama Yellow', and 'Ojama Black', the three brothers, from my Deck to my hand."
Three cards popped out of the Deck automatically, and he drew them into his hand one by one. The Deck then shuffled itself inside the Duel Disk.
"Damn it, we got hit by a trap," Kohara said in a low voice. "Then that's it for now."
Daihara nodded and accepted the instruction. "My turn ends."
"Then it's My Turn!, Card Draw."
Calmly, Yugen showed another card from his hand. "First, I activate a Spell Card! 'Pot of Greed'. If the opponent controls a Special Summoned monster and I control no Monster, I draw two cards. (ANIME EFFECT)
You have the Special Summoned 'Gilasaurus' on your field, and I have no Monster, so I draw two cards."
Yugen drew two cards, then revealed another from his hand. "Then I activate this.
Continuous Spell 'Ground Collapse'!"
The ground in front of Daihara suddenly cracked apart like shattered glass. Deep Rifts split open like the ugly jaws of a Monster, and with a heavy rumble, the earth sank as two corresponding Monster zones broke apart.
"What?" Kohara frowned.
"Ground Collapse can choose two Monster zones on the opponent's field and make them unusable."
A Monster zone seal? Kohara felt a bad premonition.
"Then I activate a Spell Card! 'Polymerization.'"
Yugen pulled out the three cards he had searched last turn all at once. "I use the three brothers, 'Ojama Yellow', 'Ojama Green', and 'Ojama Black', for Polymerization, and with a triple Polymerization I Summon..."
Three streams of colored light were drawn into the vortex of Polymerization. A brilliant flash erupted, and within that white light, a huge figure appeared with a massive arm and an oversized head, looking ridiculous from every angle.
"Ojama King, Summon!"

"Ojama King?" Kohara tensed immediately.
If this had happened before, seeing an Ojama combo would only have made the Student Council scoff. Weren't those just weak trash cards, and why would anyone in the Student Council use them? But after Ojama Trio and Spatial Constriction had forced even the legendary Meikyu Brothers to shut down on the spot, nobody in Duel Academy dared look down on this clownish group anymore. More precisely, nobody dared look down on this clownish group when it was in Yugen's hands.
Anything in this person's hands had to be dangerous, no matter how unreliable it looked. That had already become common understanding throughout Duel Academy.
"Ojama King's effect is that while this card remains on the field, you can choose up to three of the opponent's Monster Zones and make them unusable," Yugen said. "You have two monster Zones left on your field. Therefore, seal those remaining two zones."

Kohara's face darkened. It really was a Monster Zone lockdown tactic. Ojama King shouted, and the black and green Ojama brothers flew out at once, dropping into the opponent's last two open zones and squatting there like they owned the place.
Daihara froze. "Uh, doesn't that mean we can't summon any more monsters now?"
"Tch, what a dirty tactic." Hidden behind the scenes, Kohara gritted his teeth.
No wonder he was the legendary "that person" of Yellow Dormitory. This kind of method suited his style perfectly.
"Then I Normal Summon 'Bowganian' in Defense Position."

Daihara asked quietly, "There are no zones left. What do we do?"
Kohara thought it over. Four Monster Zones had been shut down in one stroke, which meant their ability to Summon had been crippled. The only fortunate part was that they still had one Gilasaurus on the field. If they drew a Level 5 or 6 High-Level Monster, they could still use the raptor as a tribute for a high-level Summon.
But they did not have any High-Level Monster in hand right now.

Daihara nodded. "My Turn! Draw!"
As soon as the new card reached his hand, Kohara's eyes lit up. It was a chance to turn things around.
"Use that!" Kohara ordered.
So Daihara carried it out without hesitation. "Activate the Quick-Play Spell 'Mystical Space Typhoon'! Destroy the Continuous Spell 'Ground Collapse'!"
Ground Collapse was a Continuous Spell that remained on the field after activation. Once it was blown away, its effect would also be Release, and the two sealed Monster Zones would return, allowing them to Summon new monsters again. A storm swept across the field, and the spell in Yugen's Back Row was smashed to powder by lightning. The distorted field of the Rift also returned to normal.

Kohara fell silent.
Damn it.
In the end, nothing had changed. The only difference was that the two zones sealed by magic had now become two annoyingly smug tokens, and they still could not summon monsters.
"Damn it. Then have Gilasaurus attack!" Kohara ordered.
