Chapter 185 - Chapter 0185 - Yugen Builds a Dirty Flip Deck

To his surprise, he even found a few cards from the Worm Level Series. It was also a rather old Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck LV Series, made up of LIGHT Insect monster, and most of them focused on Flip effects or things related to Flip effects. Based on experience, Deck built around Flip themes were usually pretty dirty.

Still, there were only a few scattered cards in stock, not a complete Deck. Yugen picked out a few that interested him anyway, just in case he needed them someday.

After sorting through everything, he came back out carrying more than forty cards. It was enough to build an entire Deck. "This is enough for now," Yugen said, choosing to stop while he was ahead.

After all, he could not really empty out the savings of the Duel Academy Student Council. Behind him, student Sato's eyes had turned red with envy. Damn it, I wanted those too, but Student Council President never lets me ask for anything.

Before leaving, Yugen thanked the great Student Council President once more. Then he casually asked, "By the way, Senior, how is that new Deck you mentioned last time coming along? Why don't we try another match? I can help you see what still needs adjusting."

Senior Xinghua shivered all over, then forced out a laugh. "Ahaha... the idea ran into a bit of a wall, so it's not ready yet."

She had been sitting there with her legs crossed, but now she quickly straightened up and began flipping through the documents in her hands as if she were busy. "And I just happen to have a lot of work right now too, what bad timing. How about this? You should play a round with student Sato first. Next time, next time I definitely will."

Student Sato was full of question marks. Why was he the one getting hurt again?

"Ah, Professor Chronos de Medici is seriously too much."

Judai Yuki walked along, kicking pebbles as he went, his face full of frustration. "Why does a Duel theory report have to be so long, and why is it due the day after tomorrow? Ah, writing reports is such a headache."

He rubbed his head, making his Jellyfish Hair even messier, then suddenly thought of something and glanced sideways. "Come to think of it, Sho Marufuji, how about helping me out?"

"Huh? But I haven't even started mine either, bro." Sho Marufuji pulled a long face.

"Yeah, I guess that's true."

Judai Yuki sighed and kicked another pebble. The little stone spun through the air, trailing dust as it flew into the distance. "It'd be great if we could settle it with a Duel instead of a theory report."

Hayato Maeda gave an awkward smile. "If it could be settled with a Duel, nobody here could beat Judai Yuki. Even if Professor Chronos de Medici showed up in person..."

"That's not true. There are still some really strong people at this Duel Academy. Like Sho Marufuji's brother, that guy called Kaiser Ryo. He's amazing."

Admiration appeared on Judai Yuki's face again. He clearly had not forgotten that match. "I dueled him not long ago, and he was seriously strong. I couldn't beat him."

"Of course." Sho Marufuji looked a little proud. "That's my strongest big brother."

Still, every time he said that, the contrast between the two brothers felt a little too obvious. As they talked, Yugen joined the conversation from the side. "Oh? So you've already faced that Kaiser Ryo?"

"Huh, Yugen?"

All three of them turned at once. Judai Yuki immediately nodded several times. "Yeah, yeah. He really lives up to being called Duel Academy's Kaiser Ryo. He dropped an Cyber End Dragon with 8000 ATK just like that, and it even had piercing damage."

"I lost in one shot."

Carefree as ever, Judai Yuki seemed perfectly happy even while talking about a Duel he had lost. He even looked like he wanted to play another round. Yugen nodded. "I see. If even Judai Yuki couldn't hold on, then Duel Academy's Kaiser Ryo really is worthy of the name."

"Haha, but don't worry. Yugen, you'll definitely get a chance to duel him too. Come to think of it, we still haven't dueled each other yet." Judai Yuki looked eager to give it a try. "So, how about it?"

"No rush." Yugen smiled. "Let's wait for a more suitable stage for our Duel. Still, I think that chance is coming soon, so you can start getting ready."

"What are you talking about? I'm always ready." Judai Yuki sounded completely confident.

Yugen gave a small nod. That was true. Judai Yuki had always been the type of Duelist who performed better the more he improvised on the spot.

When Kaiser Ryo chose Judai Yuki as his opponent for the graduation Duel, Judai Yuki had spent the entire previous night thinking hard and making special adjustments to his Deck. In the end, that rare attempt to overthink a Duel only made Kaiser Ryo say he was deeply disappointed and regretted choosing him as the opponent for his graduation match. In Ryo Marufuji's view, Kaiser Ryo had probably felt that Judai Yuki was the type who fought best when he played freely.

"Eh? This direction... Yugen, are you going to draw bread too?" Sho Marufuji asked.

"Yeah. Card Draw practice." Yugen smiled.

So-called bread drawing was a special event at the Duel Academy shop. The shop's specialty bread all looked exactly the same on the outside, but each one had a different filling, and nobody knew what was inside until they took a bite. There was also a story that Duel Academy kept a magical Golden Chicken that supposedly laid one golden egg every day, so among all the bread sold daily there was exactly one Golden Egg Bread, making it the rare prize everyone wanted.

On top of that, the teacher for the Card Draw class promoted it heavily and recommended that everyone come to the shop to practice Card Draw by drawing bread. So every day when the event began, the place was packed. Of course, many students also whispered that Duel Academy pushed the shop's events so hard because of certain special connections.

One popular rumor said that Aunt Tome from the shop and Principal Samejima had a story between them that people could talk about for days. Some even claimed there was a secret tunnel under the principal's office desk, with the other end opening right behind Aunt Tome's counter. The story sounded so ridiculous that most students treated it as a complete fabrication.

But Yugen, who had seen the anime, knew it was actually true. Even now, though, nobody knew why the school had built such a tunnel in the first place.

The event had not even started yet, but by the time they arrived, the shop was already packed. Students stood in a long line outside, rubbing their hands together with excited looks on their faces. A young woman working at the shop was trying hard to keep order. "Everyone, don't push. One at a time."

Judai Yuki blew into his hands, his eyes full of determination. "All right. No matter what, today I absolutely have to..."

Yugen glanced at him. "You still didn't get one in the last two days either?"

"Yeah, isn't it strange?" Sho Marufuji said. "Big bro used to have a streak of twenty straight wins. He was known as the king of eggs."

Judai Yuki's face fell. "That title sounds terrible, Sho Marufuji, doesn't it?"

"But even so, big bro hasn't drawn one for a lot of days now," Sho Marufuji said.
