As if that wasn't enough, Don Giacomo and the other men—minus Massimo and Cristiano, who were deep in a tense discussion at the wine bar—played hide and seek with him.
Watching grown men who probably killed as often as they breathed, fully clad in their designer suits, running around and playing dead for a four-year-old was the most surreal and heartwarming sight I'd ever seen.
I'd taken videos and pictures on my new phone because it was a memory I wanted to replay whenever things got dark.
