I grabbed Griffin's shoulders, my fingers digging deep into the fabric of his suit jacket as I squeezed hard, my jaw clamped tight.
"We are not letting Andrej die, Griffin," I stared right into Griffin's eyes, making sure he saw the sheer determination in mine. "We are going out there, we are going to find him, and we are going to bring him back.
"And I don't care if his heart has already stopped beating, I don't give a bloody damn if he's gone cold on that pavement, we will bring him back to fucking life, do you understand me?"
Griffin's pale face streaked with soot and the spray of shattered glass, hardened with a determined look that told me he was ready to follow me into the mouth of hell itself.
"Yes, boss."
"Good," I slapped his arms hard to snap us both into the moment, and turned back toward the street. "Let's move."
