In a different part of the forest, the air grew hot. Dyralfa stood in a clearing, her scales shimmering with rage. Across from her stood a monster that had shifted its flesh to look exactly like her—a mocking, twisted mirror of Maddy's creation.
Dyralfa's voice was a low growl.
"You dare?! You copy the form my Mother gave me? You are not worthy of this skin!"
She lunged forward. The Doppelganger mirrored her movements, arms raised like Dyralfa, but Dyralfa was faster. Her fist slammed into its chest with pinpoint force.
CRACK!
The creature was sent hurtling backward, crashing through three trees in a violent arc. Dyralfa didn't hesitate—she pursued immediately, pinning it to the forest floor. Without a moment wasted, she snapped its neck with cold, precise efficiency. The forest fell silent again, save for the rustle of leaves disturbed by the brief chaos.
