Dyralfa puffed her chest proudly.
"Of course! You raised us!"
Arach rubbed the back of his neck again, embarrassed.
"We're just doing what you taught us."
Sephiran pumped his fist into the air.
"BEST COLONY EVER!"
Frovian nodded thoughtfully.
"The structure appears to be functioning as intended."
Maddy chuckled at them.
"Good. Because while you all have your roles…"
She tapped her chest lightly.
"…I have one too."
The children blinked. Sephiran tilted his head.
"Mother has a role?"
Dyralfa grinned.
"Oh! I know!"
She pointed dramatically.
"Mother's role is making more children!"
Sephiran gasped.
"OH YEAH!"
Frovian sighed quietly and teased them.
"I forgot these two had rocks in their brains…"
Maddy stared at them. Then she burst out laughing.
"No!"
She wiped a tear from the corner of her eye.
"Okay yes, technically that is something I do but that's not my only role."
Her expression slowly grew serious again.
