The White Blooded offspring were being groomed thoroughly, day by day. But today was special. Tonight, they would undergo the Dragonrite—the sacred ritual where they would drink the blood of Tiamat.
Inside the grand bath chambers, the four of them were being cleaned by their assigned servants. One servant scrubbed their backs. Another poured warm water. Another prepared fresh towels and fragrant oils.
Raspy and Sloppy were being scrubbed so vigorously by four servants each that their skin had turned a furious shade of pink.
"OW! Watch the ears!"
"I'm becoming a Dragonborn tonight, not a polished floor!"
Knots sat in a separate, smaller tub, the water perfectly tempered. He made no complaints. Instead, he simply closed his eyes as a servant meticulously washed each strand of his long braided hair, which draped over the edge of the marble basin.
Amid the splashing and shouting, he remained perfectly still, a statue of quiet composure.
