Maddy's body reacted with the instinct of a bunny. She twisted mid-air, her Agile Spine trait allowing her to contort out of the bolt's path. She whipped her arm out, sending her shield flying once more to silence the Lightning Slimes.
As the shield slammed into a nearby roof, Mineral Slimes suddenly popped out from the eaves. They launched themselves from above, their heavy, stone-like bodies plummeting toward her. They were a crushing weight, ready to drop hard and turn her into a pancake against the ground.
Maddy looked up. Her mind flashed to the way she broke down tough roots on a cutting board. She moved to harvest.
"Cross Slice!"
Her blade blurred in a rapid, intersecting X pattern. The steel hissed through the air, meeting the descending Mineral Slimes with the force of a master chef. The heavy monsters partitioned into clean, uniform quarters. They hit the ground as a shower of inert, stony chunks.
