Julian's eyes narrowed immediately. Seb ignored him and looked directly at Amara instead.
"And you don't have to worry," he said quietly. "I won't manipulate the results." A pause. "You can trust that." Amara stared at him angrily. Trust. That word sounded almost insulting coming from him.
After everything. After all the lies. All the manipulation. All the damage. Yet somehow… she felt she had no choice; she really wanted to be done with this nightmare.
"I promise," Seb said quietly as they stood outside the hospital entrance. "While you're here, I want you to meet someone." Amara looked at him coldly. Seb continued before she could refuse.
"Because once the results are out… You and I will never cross paths again." His jaw tightened slightly. "I promise you that." Amara didn't believe him.
