Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: One Less Horcrux

At this moment, Adelaide felt as if she were in a state that was incredibly wondrous and profoundly mysterious.

Her consciousness was crystal clear, yet her body uncontrollably raised the wand in her hand, which shimmered with a mysterious light. Accompanied by the incantation from her mouth, she swiftly cast a complex Star-Net Spell with practiced and precise movements.

Although she didn't understand this "Star Net" before her, judging by the expression of extreme terror on the giant black dragon's face, this Star Net descending from the sky must possess some powerful force capable of restraining the evil soul within the Horcrux!

Had the great Merlin heard her heartfelt and earnest call, lending a helping hand at the critical moment?

Thinking of this, Adelaide couldn't help but be filled with awe and gratitude—Old Man Merlin really is a good god!

Good God Card for Merlin +1

Adelaide fixed her gaze on the giant black dragon tightly enveloped by the Star Net. She saw the sinister black aura that originally permeated the dragon's body being rapidly absorbed by the brightly shining Star Net—not only that, as the black aura gradually dissipated, the dragon's massive body actually began to slowly shrink. Though the change was slow, it was clearly visible.

"Roar~ Ah!"

The soul committing evil within the black dragon's body let out bursts of painful wails. Clearly, the Star Net's attack was not merely aimed at the physical body but acted directly upon the enemy's soul.

Adelaide frowned deeply. It was one thing for the Star Net to torment the souls of Lord Voldemort and that disgusting cockroach soul, but she hoped it wouldn't devastate Alice's soul along with them... Thinking of this, she couldn't help but feel a surge of anxiety and unease.

Under the increasingly tightening restraint of the Star Net, the originally majestic giant black dragon had gradually returned to the normal size it was when Alice's Blood Curse recurred.

Adelaide squinted and looked up. She saw the ravenclaw diadem worn on the black dragon's head beginning to show cracks as the Star Net tightened. This powerful Dark Arts item could no longer withstand the continuous and fierce attacks from the Star Net and was on the verge of complete collapse and disintegration at any moment.

Clatter—

Before long, a crisp sound rang out. The cracks on the ravenclaw diadem suddenly widened, and the entire Diadem became shaky in an instant before shattering apart.

At the same time, the thick black mist surrounding the black dragon seemed to be driven by some mysterious force, rapidly condensing into an enormous face.

This face composed of black mist was distorted and deformed, appearing extremely hideous and terrifying. Immediately following was a heart-wrenching roar of pain.

"Ugh, ah~ I'm not reconciled!"

Along with this roar, the giant face suddenly exploded, turning into countless black fragments that splashed and dissipated.

As these fragments flew about, a dark green light emerged from among them—this light was actually a ball of light emitting an eerie aura, with two long, constantly wriggling tentacles growing on its surface.

Adelaide had originally been in that profound and otherworldly state, but when her eyes met those two disgusting, wriggling tentacles, her face instantly turned as pale as paper, even worse than when she had seen the demonic dragon descend earlier.

As if struck by a bolt of lightning, her body trembled violently. She then broke out of that mysterious state with lightning speed, retreating several large steps without the slightest hesitation, each step appearing hurried and flustered.

"Damn!"

Adelaide couldn't help but curse, secretly muttering: What kind of monster is this damned Cockroach? Even Lord Voldemort's soul fragment has completely perished, yet it can still survive so tenaciously, without even a hint of its soul scattering!

Is a Cockroach's vitality really that tenacious?

The dark green Cockroach light ball nimbly wove through the narrow gaps of the Star Net. Its movement speed was as fast as lightning, dashing toward the distance almost at the speed of light.

Such a sudden turn of events caught all the Wizards present off guard. They didn't even have time to react, only able to watch helplessly as the light ball vanished without a trace in the blink of an eye.

Sigh... forget it.

Adelaide let out a long sigh, thinking to herself that even before the savior had stepped through the gates of Hogwarts, she had already successfully destroyed a Horcrux. This undoubtedly greatly accelerated the process of Lord Voldemort's downfall.

The current pace of development had already exceeded the original setting, being significantly faster than the original storyline—thinking of this, Adelaide felt there was no need to be too hard on herself.

As long as they remained calm and vigilant while moving forward, they would eventually be able to completely defeat the dark forces and protect the peace and tranquility of the magic world!

As for the cockroach soul's escape—actually, thinking carefully, if this matter wouldn't have too much of a negative impact on the peaceful daily life she sought for the second half of the school year, then letting that detestable cockroach soul enjoy a few more months of freedom seemed to be no big deal.

However, at this moment, there was an even more difficult problem before Adelaide that needed urgent attention—with the ravenclaw diadem ruined, Lord Voldemort's remaining soul dissipated, and the cockroach soul fled in panic, by all logic, the possessed Alice should have returned to her original normal state.

But incredibly, she currently still maintained her black dragon form, with no sign of changing back.

Not only that, even the Star Net seemed to completely ignore the fact that the cockroach horcrux was already destroyed. Instead of stopping its fierce offensive, it intensified its continuous compression of the black dragon's body.

The other Wizards were still immersed in the shocking scene from just now—when the Diadem shattered, the black mist had instantly condensed into a giant face of Lord Voldemort. Could it be that Adelaide had just destroyed Lord Voldemort?

Unlike the others standing dazed in place, Adelaide raised her wand and took cautious steps toward the Star Net. As she drew closer, she finally saw the full picture of this giant net.

To her great surprise, this giant net wasn't just simply compressing the black dragon's massive body and restricting its physical space—the Star Net actually branched out into countless tiny hollow tubes, like dense needles, piercing deep beneath the black dragon's iron-hard black scales and directly into its flesh.

What these hollow tubes were extracting was no ordinary substance either, but dark red, strangely shaped characters.

They were continuously sucked out of the black dragon's body, as if pulled by some powerful force, flowing slowly along those hollow tubes, and finally converging at the top of the Star Net to form a blood-colored sphere.
