Hermione had actually visited 87 secondary schools in half a year?
When she heard this number, Adelaide was completely stunned, thinking to herself, just how many secondary schools were there in the city of London in total!
Her eyes widened as she looked at Hermione in front of her with utter disbelief.
"Hermione, why... why did you do that?"
Given Hermione's grades and family background, she could have easily considered only the top 10 private secondary schools in London; going to any other school would be a waste of her talent.
When Adelaide's gaze met Hermione's direct stare, and she noticed Hermione's body, which was noticeably thinner than it had been half a year ago—Adelaide suddenly realized, and an indescribable feeling surged in her heart. Was this silly girl trying to find the secondary school she was attending?
Thinking of this, Adelaide couldn't help but sigh helplessly and say softly, "Hermione, didn't I tell you back then? I went abroad... why were you so persistent and made things so hard for yourself? You were actually searching for traces of me in every secondary school in London."
Facing Adelaide's questioning, Hermione did not show any sign of backing down.
She slightly raised her chin and looked directly into Adelaide's eyes, explaining unhurriedly, "Remember that girl we met when we went out together that day? And those two gangster weirdos messing around with fireworks—they both spoke with standard British accents. You could say the girl was a fellow Brit who came back with you for Christmas, but how do you explain those two weirdos being British as well? Could a gang you provoked in the United States change their accents in just a few days after coming to Britain?"
"Based on these details, I judged that you hadn't left Britain at all. So I decided to start with London and try every possible way to find you, you liar."
Hearing Hermione's well-reasoned analysis, Adelaide couldn't help but marvel inwardly. As expected of the future Minister for Magic, she could perceive even such tiny clues so thoroughly.
Hermione's tone softened slightly as she continued, "But well, I'll give you credit for having a bit of a conscience and recommending me to the school you attend. I'll let you off the hook this time."
She got off Adelaide, sat up straight, and looked at Professor McGonagall, showing respect and humility on her face. Then, in a respectful tone, she asked, "Respected teacher, could you please tell me when the entrance examination and interview will be scheduled? I promise I will arrive on time, strictly according to the schedule."
Hearing this, Professor McGonagall shook her head gently and replied, "Dear Miss Granger, Hogwarts does not require an entrance exam. As long as your name is recorded in our school's register, from that moment on, you are already a prospective student of Hogwarts—our Hogwarts is the most outstanding and prestigious magic school in all of Europe. As long as you study hard, you will become an excellent Witch in seven years!"
Listening quietly nearby, Hermione and Mrs. Granger seemed to realize something. They simultaneously focused their attention on a certain word in what Professor McGonagall had just said.
Mrs. Granger asked with a face full of confusion, "magic? I heard you mention that word just now... Does that mean your school is one that specializes in teaching tricks and such?"
Professor McGonagall sat upright on the sofa and raised her wand. With years of experience in home visits, she was clearly well-versed in communicating with Muggle parents.
With a gentle flick of her wand, Mrs. Granger and Hermione watched with wide eyes as the coffee cup in front of them underwent a wonderful transformation—it gradually twisted and morphed, turning into a fluffy, large Maine Coon cat in the blink of an eye!
The cat stretched lazily, then leaped lightly to the floor and began to stroll around with elegant steps.
Before Mrs. Granger and Hermione could recover from their surprise, Professor McGonagall waved her wand again, pointing at the thick stack of flyers on the table.
In an instant, those flyers stood up as if given life, transforming into small and delicate paper figures.
These paper figures moved in unison, dancing a passionate Breakdance to the rhythm of cheerful music coming from nowhere.
They twisted their bodies flexibly, performing various high-difficulty dance moves that were dazzling to the eye.
Mrs. Granger's eyes went wide and her mouth hung open, completely shocked by the incredible scene before her.
Even the always clever Hermione couldn't help but watch in stunned silence. She had never imagined that such a magical power could exist in this world—it had far surpassed the realm of what ordinary Magic tricks could achieve!
After the performance, Professor McGonagall turned her gaze toward Adelaide with a smile and winked at her.
Long before coming, Dumbledore had specifically instructed her that the detailed introduction of the Wizarding World and Hogwarts School to the Hermione Granger family must be left to Adelaide to complete personally.
Adelaide sighed helplessly, muttering to herself, "Sigh, it's my turn after all..." Clearing her throat, she quickly adjusted her state and methodically began to tell Mrs. Granger and Hermione about the mysterious Wizarding World and the fantastical Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
"—You could say that Hermione, like me, possesses the unique talent to become a Wizard; because of this, I hope she can go to Hogwarts with me for further study."
"Please rest assured, Mrs. Granger. As Hermione's best friend, I will certainly take good care of all her affairs at Hogwarts."
As Adelaide spoke eloquently, an indescribable emotion surged deep within Hermione, a mix of relief as if having survived a disaster and a lingering fear—luckily she also possessed Magic; otherwise, she feared she and Adelaide would have drifted apart in this life, becoming people of two different worlds.
