Chapter 114 - Chapter 114: The Belated Weekly Journal

"My esteemed Lady Hermione, please have mercy and spare this lowly one! It's been over three hundred days; with such a long span of time, how could I possibly remember the exact date of every single event? Please, be magnanimous and don't make things so difficult for me, okay..."

Adelaide pleaded pitifully with a bitter expression, feeling that this punishment was truly too harsh.

Hermione's delicate brows furrowed slightly as she fell into thought. After a moment, she reluctantly picked up her pen, crossed out "Adelaide's Missing Person Diary" written on the title page, and changed it to "Adelaide's Missing Person Weekly Journal."

Then she looked up and said to Adelaide expressionlessly, "I'm not a monster. Since you've put it that way, we'll change the cycle from daily to weekly. Recount your daily life from last August until now—especially regarding certain key events, I will not allow any concealment or omissions!"

Adelaide breathed a secret sigh of relief; Hermione had finally made some concessions.

Although recalling things by the week was still a bit difficult, Adelaide understood that if she continued to haggle with Hermione now, she likely wouldn't change her mind again and might even get angrier.

Adelaide could only nod obediently and began to reminisce with a face full of sorrow.

"Well... then I'll start from the day I boarded the hogwarts express—at that time, I was both excited and nervous, full of anticipation and curiosity for the upcoming life at the magic school..."

"Later, I had the honor of joining the Human Research Group, where I learned a lot of interesting knowledge and skills, and the three seniors were all very kind..."

"Then came that unforgettable Halloween night, when I participated in a thrilling dragon-riding and dragon-fighting event! Looking back now, I still have lingering fears..."

"After that, at Christmas, I happened to run into you in Chinatown..."

"Not long after I returned, I participated in the operation to eliminate Dark Arts artifacts within Hogwarts..."

"Just over a month ago, I went to Hogsmeade with Headmaster Dumbledore to try experimenting with hybrid magic beans..."

Adelaide racked her brains to remember, talking incessantly to Hermione about her past experiences.

Hermione sat at the desk, listening intently to Adelaide's account of her school (adventure) experiences from the past year.

As the story unfolded, Hermione's expression became increasingly solemn, and her pen never stopped recording important information in the notebook.

When she heard some of the more thrilling plot points, Hermione couldn't help but widen her eyes, feeling a chill run up her spine; by the time she reached the end, her hand holding the pen was actually trembling involuntarily.

Finally, Hermione could no longer suppress her shock and worry. She looked up at Adelaide in fear and said, "Adelaide, when that Professor McGonagall was chatting with my mother earlier, she clearly swore that Hogwarts was the safest place in the entire Wizarding World!"

"But you've only just finished your first year; how could you encounter so many terrifying things... Oh my god! Doesn't that mean other places in the Wizarding World are even more fraught with danger and peril?"

Hearing this, the corner of Adelaide's mouth couldn't help but twitch.

She hadn't expected that her experiences this year would lead the future Minister for Magic to have such a negative evaluation of the British Wizarding World.

A sense of guilt suddenly surged in Adelaide's heart, as if she had become a sinner who ruined the good reputation of the Wizarding World.

That shouldn't be right... While feeling guilty, Adelaide remembered hearing in her past life that before Lord Voldemort fell and Harry Potter enrolled, Hogwarts had always been peaceful.

But looking at it now, that wasn't the case.

She had only stayed for one year and had already encountered Blood-Cursed Beastmen and been targeted by Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort's cockroach horcrux—where was the safety in Hogwarts now!

Thinking of this, Adelaide fell into deep thought.

Perhaps she had been blaming Harry Potter all along; maybe the savior himself wasn't a magnet for trouble, but rather there was something wrong with the Feng Shui of Hogwarts itself, causing all sorts of bizarre incidents to happen one after another.

Yes, it's definitely a Feng Shui problem with Hogwarts!

Anyway, her gentle, kind, and non-confrontational self was just a victim; she had absolutely nothing to do with the turmoil in the Wizarding World this year.

Adelaide sighed with regret; unfortunately, one couldn't skip grades at Hogwarts. Otherwise, she would definitely get a few N.E.W.T. certificates next year and then flee the poorly-Feng-Shui'd Hogwarts at light speed.

At noon, while Mrs. Granger had not yet returned home, Hermione went to the kitchen herself and meticulously prepared several chicken sandwiches—the bread slices were toasted until golden and crispy, sandwiching tender and juicy chicken, lettuce, and tomatoes, emitting an inviting aroma.

They leisurely enjoyed this simple and delicious lunch, then began their afternoon chat (interrogation).

Time passed quietly during their "pleasant" conversation until Mr. Granger returned home carrying heavy fishing gear. Mrs. Granger then interrupted their talk, smilingly telling them to wash their hands first and then come downstairs to enjoy a sumptuous dinner.

When Adelaide arrived at the dining room rubbing her hands, the sight on the table made her appetite soar.

To celebrate properly, Mrs. Granger had pulled out all the stops, preparing a table of luxurious "English" feast.

The table was filled with all kinds of delicacies: golden and crispy fish and chips emitted a rich aroma; bright red German pork knuckles increased one's appetite; steaming Spanish paella was fragrant; Italian pizza covered in cheese and toppings was irresistible; there was also a bottle of French red wine and two glasses of freshly squeezed grape juice, adding a touch of romance and elegance to the banquet.

The four of them sat together, happily enjoying this delicious meal.

While eating, Adelaide explained and demonstrated the Wizarding World and Wizard spellcasting to Mr. Granger. She lightly waved her wand, and the fries originally on the plate actually lined up like well-trained soldiers, jumped up in unison, and landed precisely on the tuna and onion pizza.

Then these fries grew arms and legs, and as if they possessed life, they began to do radio gymnastics. Their synchronized movements made the Granger family marvel incessantly.

Mr. Granger's eyes widened; he was completely captivated by the magical scene before him, even forgetting the frustration brought by his unsuccessful fishing trip today.

With Dumbledore's endorsement, Adelaide didn't have to fear the "ban on underage magic during holidays" at all. She spent the whole evening making The Grangers develop a strong interest in magic and sincerely support Hermione going to Hogwarts.

Having received a clear answer, Adelaide wrote a note saying "Mission accomplished," opened the window, and called to the Owl perched on the tree in front of The Grangers' house, letting it take the note to Dumbledore.
