"What are you all standing around for?"
Roger's roar jolted a group of pirates, who were still dazed and whose jaws were almost dislocated, back to their senses.
"Turn the ship around!"
"Portside gun crew, load the cannons!"
"Starboard gun crew, prepare!"
"Clean up all the rest of them for me!"
"Roar!"
The pirates instantly snapped out of their shock, replaced by an even more fervent excitement!
One volly!
Just one volly wiped out several enemy ships!
What was this?
This was divine power!
This was their Captain's divine power!
Following a Captain like this, what Sam, what Great Ming Navy, what little dwarves, they were all trash!
"Starboard gun crew ready!"
Hector yelled, giving the fire command again.
He was completely hyped now.
He had been a pirate his whole life, but he had never fought such a rich battle!
This feeling of crushing enemies into dust with absolute firepower was more satisfying than sleeping with ten of Tortuga Port's hottest girls!
"Fire!"
"Fire!!!"
The commands were relayed one by one.
"Boom boom boom boom boom!!!"
Another terrifying roar that shook the earth.
the explorer's starboard side unleashed its second saturation strike!
The defenders of Hirado Port once again experienced what despair felt like.
They watched helplessly as that dark cloud of cannonballs precisely covered their central fleet.
Explosions, screams, the sound of wood breaking... another round.
Several more warships turned into burning wrecks on the sea.
On the sea, no complete ships could be seen anymore.
There were floating planks everywhere, broken masts, and people struggling in the inferno.
The few surviving Japanese atakebune were completely terrified.
They didn't even dare to charge towards the explorer, but instead turned their ships around and frantically fled towards the port, wishing their parents had given them two more pairs of wings.
"Hahahaha! Run! Why aren't you fighting anymore?"
Billy stood on the ballista tower, hands on his hips, laughing harder than he cried.
"A bunch of cowards!"
The pirates on the deck erupted in thunderous laughter.
Roger looked at the scene of what could only be described as a one-sided massacre, feeling no ripple in his heart.
He even felt a little like yawning.
"Ding! Host, a friendly reminder."
Just then, the system's voice chimed in faintly, like a prodigal wife who had just helped you clear your shopping cart and then came to you with the bill.
"Your two volleys just now were very cool, very explosive."
"It's just that they were a little bit expensive."
"A total of one hundred and two 36-pound solid shot, sixty chain shot, three hundred barrels of high-grade gunpowder were consumed..."
"Two more rounds, and we'll have to tighten our belts next month and live on seaweed."
Roger's smile instantly froze.
Just two shots?
And it's gone?!
Damn it!
He wasn't firing cannonballs, he was firing money!
He glanced at the silver ingots in the Captain's Cabin that hadn't even had time to warm up, his heart aching.
No, he couldn't keep firing like this!
If he kept firing, the money he plundered wouldn't even cover the cost of the ammunition!
He was here to make money, not to do charity!
Roger's gaze swept back and forth between the panicked enemy ships on the sea and the howling, energetic Undead Pirates on his deck.
A bold and crazy idea popped into his head.
Cannonballs were limited.
But his Undead Pirates were unlimited!
Cannonballs were consumables, one less with each shot.
But his employees could resurrect infinitely, they were a renewable resource!
Using renewable resources as disposable consumables... this line of thinking seemed... completely fine!
"Brothers!"
Roger cleared his throat, interrupting the pirates' revelry.
"Were the fireworks just now pretty?"
"Pretty!" the pirates roared in unison.
"Do you want to see an even bigger, more exciting one up close?"
"Yes!"
"Good!"
A devilish smile appeared on Roger's face.
He walked up to a group of pirates and pointed at them.
"Look, our bodies are treasures bestowed by the Sea God, indestructible and eternal."
"Yet we only use them to play Russian roulette or use our heads as bowling balls."
"This is a great waste of the gods' grace!"
"It is shameful! It is a crime!"
Roger pounded his chest, deeply distressed.
The pirates were bewildered by his spiel.
It seemed... to make some sense?
"Now! I shall bestow upon you a sacred, glorious task that will maximize your worth!"
Roger spread his arms, his expression solemn and grave.
