Damian's hair fell forward, crimson strands obscuring his features.
His whisper came out even quieter than before, still perfectly controlled.
"So the ones who killed my father were the Gods."
It wasn't a question, just a statement of fact settling into place.
"And the true culprits behind my family's fall..."
His fingers curled against his thighs.
"Were my own mother's family."
The Mask remained silent, offering no confirmation because none was needed.
Damian's head lifted fractionally, his gaze finding the ceiling overhead.
"What about my Grandpa?"
His voice stayed level despite what the question carried.
"Did he also get sealed by this so-called Heaven Sealing Clan before he died?"
The Mask's presence shifted, becoming somehow smaller.
Its whisper emerged rough and uncertain.
"I don't know."
A pause, the admission clearly costing something.
"In case you didn't notice, that idiot didn't wear his mask that night when he came to your estate."
