In the span of a few breaths, I found myself standing in the middle of complete chaos.
The westerner man had pointed the gun at me. The way he held the gun made it clear he was ready to pull the trigger at any moment.
Without letting the smile fade from my face, I took a step toward him. My movement startled not only him but also the northerner guards around us. A few of them, unsure of where to aim their weapons, had shifted their targets.
"I'm not surprised that you westerners, triggered by only a smile, couldn't get the job done."
He clenched his teeth, and his face turned bright red in a matter of seconds. Taking advantage of his momentary confusion, I looked around.
There was only one way out of this situation. But I had to be sure whether the man standing in front of me would pull the trigger or not.
I should have made him do it.
