After Bruce received Lisa's call and spent a few long seconds contemplating whether to reach out to his head of security to help track Xavier, his phone rang again — this time, it was his father.
"Hello, Father," Bruce said, his tone uncertain. He was still trying to understand why his father preferred making a regular phone call instead of using the pack link. It had almost become a habit now — whenever the king needed to speak with him, he called. But with others, he always used the pack link.
"You need to come to the palace immediately," his father's deep voice came through, heavy and urgent. "It's urgent. Something terrible has happened. You need to be here as soon as possible."
"Okay, Father," Bruce replied quickly.
The call ended abruptly just as it had begun. Leaving a faint echo in the air. Bruce stood there for a moment, the weight of his father's tone sinking deep into his chest.
