Chapter 24
Kakashi slowly stood up and dusted off his clothes after the fight. A faint smile appeared beneath his mask as he looked at the four genin standing in front of him.
"Well," Kakashi said calmly, "that was a well-executed plan. Great teamwork for your first attempt."
His visible eye then shifted toward Ren.
"That jutsu…?" Kakashi asked, clearly referring to the technique Ren had used.
Ren simply shrugged as if it were nothing special.
"I recreated it," he replied casually. "It was pretty simple."
Kakashi's mouth twitched beneath his mask.
'Rasengan… simple?' Kakashi thought bitterly. 'Are we even talking about the same jutsu?'
Naruto suddenly jumped forward with shining eyes.
"Hey Ren! What was that move? That was super awesome!" Naruto said excitedly.
Sasuke also looked much more attentive now, quietly listening while trying not to appear too interested.
Ren laughed lightly at their reactions.
"It's called the Rasengan," Ren explained. "It's a jutsu originally created by the Fourth Hokage. I read about it in a book and managed to recreate it myself."
"Teach me!" Naruto and Sasuke shouted at the exact same time.
Ren paused for a moment, pretending to think seriously about their request.
"Naruto, your chakra control is terrible," Ren said bluntly. "You can't even perform the basic Clone Jutsu properly."
Naruto deflated slightly at the criticism.
"You should ask Kakashi-sensei to train your chakra control first," Ren continued. "Without that, learning Rasengan will be impossible."
Ren then turned his attention toward Sasuke.
"As for you, Sasuke… Rasengan isn't the best technique for you," Ren said calmly.
Sasuke frowned slightly but continued listening.
"That jutsu consumes a lot of chakra," Ren explained. "Naruto and I can handle that because of our reserves, but it wouldn't suit your fighting style."
Sasuke clenched his fist slightly, but Ren continued before he could protest.
"If I remember correctly, you have lightning chakra affinity," Ren said thoughtfully. "You should ask Kakashi-sensei to teach you his Chidori."
Ren smiled casually.
"It's the same rank as the Rasengan."
Kakashi's eye twitched violently as he heard his own technique being casually recommended without his permission.
He glared at Ren silently, but the boy completely ignored it.
Naruto and Sasuke immediately turned toward Kakashi with excited expressions.
Kakashi suddenly felt a headache forming.
He had originally planned to train them slowly and properly, step by step.
But now, thanks to Ren's interference, the two boys were staring at him like hungry wolves.
After being pestered relentlessly for what felt like hours, Kakashi finally sighed in defeat.
"Fine," Kakashi muttered tiredly. "I'll teach you."
Naruto and Sasuke both cheered loudly at his reluctant agreement.
Just when Kakashi thought the situation was finally over, Ren casually spoke again.
"Oh, Kakashi-sensei," Ren said lightly.
Kakashi already felt uneasy hearing that tone.
"If you're gathering training materials anyway, could you also find some medical knowledge for Sakura and me?"
Kakashi slowly turned his head toward Ren with gritted teeth.
"…Fine."
Despite his irritation, Kakashi understood the logic behind the request.
Having a medical ninja within the team could save lives during missions. Furthermore, Ren was a support ninja assigned to assist three different teams.
If he learned medical ninjutsu, it would benefit everyone.
With the test officially finished and their training plans decided, the group finally began heading back toward the village.
The sun was already beginning to set as the four genin walked away from Training Ground Seven, marking the beginning of their true lives as shinobi.
