After a few minutes of cuddling in joy, Huang Shi once again turned serious as his eyes now glowed with a mixture of murder and sadness.
"As for what happened between Mother and the Disciplinary Hall… this is what Grandfather told me."
With that, Huang Shi opened his mouth and started recounting everything that his grandfather had told him about his mother and father: how they met, fell in love, and how he eventually had to leave because of outside circumstances.
He didn't specify what really happened between his grandfather and the so-called man that appeared in the middle of the sky because he felt like it would be too dangerous.
Instead, he just focused on what happened after his father had left their world.
"When my father left my mother, she didn't grow resentful; instead, she focused on making sure that I would have a good life, and so she seduced Huang Dao and made him believe that I was his son instead of my real father's!"
Throughout his entire recount, Li Mei just kept quiet and held his hands, and yet he could feel her fingers trembling from agitation.
"So what happened after that? I still don't see why you and Father Li hate the Disciplinary Hall with such a vengeance?"
Huang Shi became quiet for a few seconds, trying to think through his words, before finally, he slowly opened his mouth and revealed the crux of the matter.
"When my mother was pregnant with me, the True Dragon Ancestral Sect of the Central Prefecture suddenly decided that a Child of Calamity would be born in the Azure Dragon Sect—most likely because of the existence of my father—and so they ordered the Azure Dragon Sect Disciplinary Hall to conduct that purge…"
Li Mei nodded her head, a bit of confusion now clouding her features as she replied,
"But how could that Child of Calamity be you? Sister Li Qian wasn't part of the purge because she wasn't pregnant yet during that time, right?"
Huang Shi suddenly had an awful expression on his face as he shook his head.
"That's wrong; my mother was pregnant with me during that time! It's just that she used most of her cultivation base to delay her pregnancy to ensure that she wasn't detected, and this probably what she told you as well, but this caused a large amount of her lifespan to be used up as a result, and…"

A second, more powerful wave of spiritual energy erupted through the room. It was so powerful that Huang Shi, who was currently sitting in front of his lover, was no longer able to endure it on his own. Despite Li Mei not actively targeting him, he grunted as a bit of blood seeped out of his mouth.
Li Mei, in her anger, didn't seem to notice the fact. Her eyes, which had already turned purple, suddenly glowed with a terrifying light as she extended both of her hands and grabbed his shoulders, red veins appearing in her purple eyes as his bones cracked.
"Is what you said true? Did my sister die because of the schemes of the Azure Dragon Sect Disciplinary Hall and the True Dragon Ancestral Sect?"
Despite the pressure he was feeling—his bones cracking and pain filling his features—he still nodded his head slowly as he spoke in a grim tone.
"That's right… before Grandfather told me the truth, he was the only one who carried this burden alone. He would have kept this secret to his grave if he didn't find out about my talent… and that there was a chance for revenge in this life…"
WHOOSH
All of a sudden, Li Mei stood up from the bed, her body flashing as if teleporting. Shadows appeared all around her body, making her look like a phantom as she now stood beside the door to his room and blasted it open.
BOOM!
Shit… fuck… I didn't think telling her the truth would be this bad.
Huang Shi grimaced, his body already slightly injured from the powerful spiritual energy pressure that Li Mei constantly emitted; right now, he truly didn't have the strength to stop her.
"Wait! Mei'er! Don't go yet! It's not time… we will have our revenge on them soon enough. If you go there now, you will die!"
He screamed out loud, his voice echoing through his estate, and yet despite this, Li Mei acted like she hadn't heard him at all.
Her body, now shrouded in shadows and purple light, appeared at the edge of his vision. She was now nearing the main gate of his estate; stepping past it would mean that Li Mei would be out of the cloaking area of his system, and she would instantly be exposed.
Huang Shi, noticing that the situation was now dire, instantly forced himself to stand up despite the pain flooding his features as he started chasing after her.
"Wait… Mei'er! Please wait… I—I can't afford to lose you… please!"
Li Mei, who was just about to open the door and exit—knowing full well that Huang Shi had the strange ability to hide her cultivation base—paused for a few seconds. Her expression twisted in pain, and yet, despite this, she grit her teeth and replied in a cold voice.
"Shi'er… I love you… more than you will ever know… but this crime… taking my sister away from me… is unforgivable… I… I… I cannot wait… I must take my revenge…"
