Rex stared at it for a moment. Then he laughed, short and genuine, because the Avatar had just done exactly what Rex would have done if someone implied they could read his thinking from a general description, which was to push for specifics rather than assume the general version was sufficient.
"97.3%," he said while crossing his arms. "The other 2.7% is interesting."
The Avatar stood still.
"Alright, let me check if we could switch bodies first... just to make sure." He closed his eyes.
As the Avatar focused, a faint glow surrounded him, and Rex felt a strange feeling wash over him. The air was full of energy, and he couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to really see things from the Avatar's perspective.
Rex took a deep breath and went through the Consciousness Transfer Protocol test. This was the one where he let his awareness briefly live in the Avatar's sensory frame and then come back.
