Ignivara was a wreck of gasping, wet, and pathetic sounds. Her face was a mask of white, viscous humiliation, her eyes streaming with tears that mixed with the spilled cream.
Every time she thought she had gathered enough to swallow, a fresh convulsion of her throat would send a glob of the thick, salty liquid splashing back into the dirt.
"GAK! HHH KHHH! SLURP... GAH!"
She was panting, her chest heaving, her throat raw and stinging from the constant gagging. She looked up at Rex, her eyes wide and pleading, her lips trembling as she tried to form words through the mess.
"P-please... Rex... mmmph... one more... just one more chance..." she whimpered, her voice a broken, raspy shadow of its former draconic majesty. "I can... I can do it... just... just let me try again..."
Rex didn't even look sympathetic. He let out a long, low whistle of derision, a sound that cut through her desperation like a knife.
"One more chance?"
