The revelation hit Veylor like a physical blow. His spectral form convulsed as memories, sharp, bloody, and terrifying, rushed back to him.
The cold steel against his neck, the laughter in the dark, the feeling of his life draining into the dirt.
"YOU MONSTER!" Veylor finally screamed, the sound tearing from his throat like something dying. "YOU FILTHY, DECEITFUL SHIT!"
"YOU KILLED THEM ALL! YOU KILLED ME!"
"YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME... JUST TO PLAY THIS GAME?!" His anger flared, a sickly green light pulsing through his form. "I'LL TEAR YOU APART!"
"I'LL DRAG YOU TO HELL MYSELF, YOU COWARDLY BASTARD!"
Veylor's rage was impotent, a storm without wind. He threw his spectral hands forward in a desperate attempt to strike Rex, but his hands passed through the man's muscular back like smoke through air.
"Try it, little ghost," Rex mocked, deliberately grinding his hips forward.
