Chapter 28 - I’m Free Tonight—Feel Free to Contact Me…

"Oh right… I still have a blind date tonight."

Only after waking up did Lin Yu suddenly remember this extremely important matter.

He checked the time and discovered—

there were only about thirty minutes left before the agreed time.

With no time to waste, Lin Yu quickly took a shower, changed into a suit, and stood in front of the mirror to look himself over. After confirming there was nothing inappropriate about his appearance, he turned around, left the apartment, and headed for Bright Moon Restaurant.

Bright Moon Restaurant was the most luxurious restaurant near his apartment complex.

The prices there were outrageously high. Under normal circumstances, Lin Yu wouldn't go there without a reason.

Besides, the food there wasn't even as good as his own cooking. Unless he was so full he couldn't think straight, he would never bother going.

But today was different.

"Brother Lin, you're dressed so sharp today. What are you heading out for?"

As Lin Yu passed the apartment entrance, the security guard spotted him and greeted him.

"Blind date," Lin Yu replied quietly, his face full of helplessness.

"A blind date?! Brother Lin, you're kidding, right?"

The guard looked shocked.

"Do I look like I'm joking?" Lin Yu replied helplessly.

"Brother Lin, if you were short on girlfriends, you should've said so earlier! I could've introduced my sister to you."

"Of course, there are conditions—you'd need to teach me your cooking skills. What do you think?"

The guard suddenly looked eager.

"My sister is super beautiful, gentle, virtuous, zero dating experience—absolutely the perfect girlfriend!"

"As long as you agree, I'll contact her immediately and arrange for you two to meet. How about it?"

Seeing that Lin Yu didn't react, the guard hurriedly added a few more words.

"Besides, learning cooking is secondary. What really matters is that I'd feel safe leaving my sister with you!"

"…You really have the nerve to say that."

Lin Yu glanced at him.

"Last time, you almost burned down your kitchen."

Hearing that, the guard scratched his head awkwardly, his face full of embarrassment.

"That was… an accident, Brother Lin."

"Alright, alright. I won't bother you anymore today. Good luck with your blind date."

"In a few days I'll contact my sister—remember to come over. Guaranteed satisfaction!"

As he spoke, the guard even patted his chest confidently.

"Why does this guy feel just as unreliable as Xiangxiang…"

Walking toward Bright Moon Restaurant, Lin Yu couldn't help thinking.

One introduced his sister because of homework help.

Another wanted to introduce his sister just to learn cooking.

And Lin Yu wasn't being stingy—this guy simply had zero talent for cooking. What he made wasn't just bad; you couldn't even tell what the dish was supposed to be.

As for the taste—there was no need to mention it.

Lin Yu didn't even have the courage to try it.

From what he knew, the guard had argued with his family, moved out to live alone, and then found a job as a security guard in the apartment complex.

...

"Is that little brat actually reliable? It's already this late…"

Standing near Bright Moon Restaurant, Lin Yu checked the time. The agreed time was drawing closer, yet Xiangxiang and her sister still hadn't shown up.

It seemed—

He had made a huge mistake today: believing Xiangxiang's nonsense.

That little girl was seriously unreliable.

As the time crept closer and closer, with still no sign of them, Lin Yu had no choice but to enter the restaurant alone.

The interior of Bright Moon Restaurant was lavish from floor to ceiling.

The diners inside were clearly well-off.

The restaurant had six floors. The first floor was the regular dining area, while the second floor and above were all private rooms—with prices that spoke for themselves.

Lin Yu scanned the first floor but didn't see anyone who looked like his blind date.

"Good evening, sir. Do you have a reservation?"

As soon as he entered, a sweet-looking waitress in high heels walked over.

"Yes."

"My surname is Lin."

Lin Yu replied calmly. Xiangxiang's grandfather had told him everything was already arranged.

"Are you Mr. Lin Yu?"

The waitress's expression changed instantly. Her attitude became noticeably more respectful, and her smile even sweeter.

"Yes."

She paused for a moment, her eyes flickering as if thinking about something.

"Sir, please follow me."

Just as she was about to guide him, another female voice interrupted.

"You can go downstairs. I'll take care of this gentleman."

"Manager—"

The waitress looked surprised but quickly turned around and responded respectfully.

Following her gaze, Lin Yu saw a woman wearing metal-rimmed glasses. Her upper body was dressed in the restaurant's uniform, while below she wore a short skirt and stockings. Her long hair was tied into a single ponytail, and she looked strikingly sexy.

"Mr. Lin Yu, please follow me. Your reservation is on the sixth floor."

She bowed slightly and smiled.

"The sixth floor?"

Lin Yu nodded expressionlessly and followed behind her.

He didn't know whether it was intentional or not, but as she walked ahead of him, her movements seemed almost deliberately teasing, making her figure sway in a way that was strangely eye-catching.

Inside the elevator, the manager took out a card from her chest area and swiped it near the panel. Only then did the elevator begin to rise.

Aside from the first floor, floors two through six all required card access.

As the numbers changed, Lin Yu felt increasingly awkward.

The elevator was clearly spacious, yet the manager stood extremely close to him, leaving him unsure what to say.

Ding.

The elevator stopped at the sixth floor.

As the doors opened, Lin Yu saw the sixth floor of Bright Moon Restaurant for the first time.

Unlike the modern décor downstairs, this floor was decorated in a classical style, resembling an ancient inn.

"This is your private room, Mr. Lin Yu."

The manager stopped in front of the room.

"Thank you," Lin Yu replied politely.

At that moment, she took out a business card and slipped it into his hand.

"Mr. Lin Yu, I'm free tonight. Remember to contact me."

With that, she turned and left with a smile.

Just before the elevator doors closed, Lin Yu clearly saw her throw him a flirtatious wink—and even lick her lips.

"..."

After the elevator started descending, Lin Yu stared at the business card for a few seconds… then tossed it into the trash.

He wasn't planning to come back here anyway.

What truly made him uncomfortable was that Xiangxiang and her sister still hadn't shown up.

For a moment, he didn't know whether he should enter the private room.

Just then—

He heard the elevator again.

Turning his head, Lin Yu saw the doors open—and a familiar figure step out.

His eyes instantly lit up.
