His goal was to fulfill Uchiha Madara's "Eye of the Moon" plan, creating a world where Rin existed.

A great war ensued, and the branch family emerged victorious, but only he and his father remained.
A few years ago, his father passed away, leaving him alone on the entire moon.
Today, he was eating in his palace when suddenly a powerful beam of energy struck the moon.
The moon shattered into countless fragments, and his palace was destroyed in the process.
Fortunately, the Otsutsuki clan could move freely in space, so he was unharmed.
"I originally wanted to observe for a few more years, but now it seems unnecessary. I'll go down and synthesize the Tenseigan.
I'll destroy this failed world created by the Sage of Six Paths and recreate the new peaceful world of my ideals."
