Chapter 19 - Half-step Extraordinary

"Then, let's speed up the deduction." Jiang Yi waved his palm, directly forcing the system to accelerate the flow of time in the entire deduction world.

[With the host's assistance, the three-clawed dragon completed its evolution ahead of schedule, gained wisdom no weaker than that of humans, and unified all ocean beasts in the deep-sea region.]

[As the original virus solution in the deep-sea region was washed away and diluted by seawater, a large number of ocean beasts evolved faster. Even the slowest among them were at least twice as fast as before instantly turning the sea into an absolute forbidden zone for humans.]

[The terrifying ocean beasts forced the Xia Kingdom to dispatch large numbers of warriors and artillery to build a war fortress at the mouth of the sea, preventing ocean beasts from sneaking into the Xia Kingdom's hinterland along the rivers.]

[However, on a thunderstorm night, the three-clawed dragon led many super ferocious beasts under his command and attacked the war fortress. Calling forth wind, rain, thunder, and lightning, it slaughtered all three thousand warriors and ten thousand gunners stationed there. Then, vast numbers of ocean beasts infiltrated inland along the rivers, and the Xia Kingdom instantly fell to one-sixth of its territory.]

The next day, Huang, the Martial Ancestor, entered the lair of the ocean beasts alone with a sword. Burning his own qi and blood, he unleashed a thunderous strike.

Tens of thousands of ocean beasts died under that blade. The three-clawed dragon was grievously wounded and forced to retreat into the deep sea to recuperate.

[However, because of that life-saving blow, although he contained the ocean beast assault, Huang himself fell into a long-term, deathlike coma, and the qi and blood of a warrior within him was almost completely extinguished.]

"Oh?" Jiang Yi's eyes lit up.

A life-and-death battle. On the verge of death. Half-dead, yet not truly gone.

Wasn't this the classic setup putting the protagonist to death so he could survive and soar?

With a thought, Jiang Yi's figure appeared directly inside the Tianlong Pavilion of the Xia Kingdom's imperial capital. Logically, only the old man could reside here. But Huang had obtained his permission and could stay while recuperating protected by countless warriors and professional bodyguards.

Just like the first time, Jiang Yi's body vanished and slipped through layers of security. He phased past countless guards, entered the inner halls, and saw Huang lying on a hospital bed.

Compared with his previous vigor and towering vitality, Huang looked utterly weakened now. His face was pale. His limbs lay limp so fragile that even the lowest-level beast could kill him.

"Sure enough," Jiang Yi murmured. "On the surface, the lights are out like he'll die in the next second. But inside, that fierce qi and blood has condensed into a single ball, guarding the heart."

"I'm afraid even the three-clawed dragon itself can't imagine you won't die from injuries this severe. Tsk."

Jiang Yi clicked his tongue in amazement.

He was certain: as long as Huang survived this crisis, he would step into an entirely new level of strength.

"Then let me give you a push."

Jiang Yi smiled and poured his own qi and blood into Huang's body. The two streams trained in the same physical method merged perfectly, without the slightest resistance.

As replenished qi and blood surged in, Huang's face rapidly regained color. Even his heart resumed a vigorous beat.

Two minutes later, even without Jiang Yi's continued infusion, the qi and blood inside Huang formed its own circulation. With every heartbeat, it spread through the body reviving numb, weakened limbs.

"It's shockingly powerful," Jiang Yi said softly, sensing the new qi and blood awakening inside him.

He withdrew his palm and simply waited.

At first, the room was quiet, with only the steady thump of a heart echoing faintly.

Then the beating grew heavier.

More violent.

Like a thunder drum in the heavens roaring.

The sound pierced the walls of Tianlong Pavilion and spread into everyone's ears. It stunned them, shook their hearts, and resonated deep into their souls.

Outside, countless people turned toward Tianlong Pavilion with awe and reverence, as though witnessing the birth of a god like a rising morning star.

Warriors, in the end, were evolvers of humanity.

Each breakthrough meant something more perfect, more advanced than ordinary humans. No one knew what would happen if a warrior reached an unimaginable level shattering stubborn genetic restraints and becoming something no longer human.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Like thunder.

Like fire falling from the sky.

The roaring heartbeat accelerated again and again deafening enough that people felt their ears numb and their minds ring.

Only after a long time when the doors of Tianlong Pavilion finally opened, and a weak yet imposing figure walked out did everyone realize the sound had vanished.

"Still… a little short?" Huang murmured as he stepped outside, looking down at his body in thought.

Beneath that weakened shell, he could feel it: terrifying new blood-power, at least ten times stronger than before. Yet it was still imperfect like a semi-finished product.

Huang vaguely understood: if he could break through this final step, he would become something beyond human truly transcendent.

"If I become a transcendent… can I fight the devouring beast?"

The moment he thought of that terrifying devouring beast, the joy in Huang's heart vanished, replaced by boundless worry.

No. He couldn't grow complacent just because his strength had risen.

Not to mention the mysterious and unknown devouring beast there was also the three-clawed dragon, which had evolved ahead of schedule for reasons no one understood.

He had to train harder, step into true extraordinariness as soon as possible, and protect the Xia Kingdom.

Jiang Yi, secretly observing Huang's expression and thoughts, took it all in and smiled in satisfaction.

"Not bad. Not bad," he nodded to himself. "After a massive surge in strength, he's still neither arrogant nor impatient. He really is the destined protagonist chosen by the system."

"Look at that character. Tsk. If I don't give him full marks, I'd be stingy."

Jiang Yi grinned. He already knew the rewards from this deduction wouldn't be much different.
