Chapter 260 - Chapter 270: The Enraged Professor Moody

Charlie and Draco walked towards the Great Hall. The two morning classes were over, and it was now lunchtime. All the students were rushing to the Great Hall.

However, both of them were almost full, their stomachs packed with Blast-Ended Skrewt meat.

As they reached the entrance hall, they ran into Harry and Ron.

"That hateful big glasses wearer," Ron said, clutching his head, a pained expression on his face.

"A week's worth of dream diaries! My entire weekend is going to be spent on this!"

Hermione suddenly jumped down from the nearby stairs, looking a bit dejected.

"It's so nice that you all have so much homework," she sighed.

"Professor Viktor didn't give us any homework at all. I don't even know what to do."

Ron, Harry:??

Is she even human?

Professor Viktor is the Arithmancy Class Professor.

Hermione dropped Divination Class last semester, so she doesn't have classes with Harry and Ron.

When Draco saw Harry and Ron, the corners of his mouth turned up, and his irrepressible spirit of mockery instantly ignited.

"If you can't even finish your homework, what's the point of studying?" Draco said, crossing his arms, his voice drawn out.

"Go home, children, go home. Hogwarts isn't for you."

Ron immediately saw red.

"Shut up, you ferret!"

"Hmph, do you know what score I got on my last Potion Class exam?" Draco said, lifting his chin.

"O. You'll never get an O in Potion Class in your life."

Ron scoffed disdainfully.

"Potion Class? Did you even earn that score? Wasn't it all thanks to your godfather Snape, Young Master Ferret!"

"You should indeed call me Young Master," Draco retorted.

"After all, the things you use aren't even as good as what my servants use, Weasley!"

"You—" Ron clenched his fist.

"What!"

Charlie looked at the two of them and spoke calmly.

"If you can fight, don't argue. If you're not convinced, go outside and have a fight." He paused.

"Whoever wins calls the shots."

Draco and Ron both froze.

They looked at each other for a few seconds, then snorted and simultaneously turned their heads away.

Ron pulled Harry and walked into the Great Hall.

"Come on, I'm hungry."

Draco watched their retreating figures, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. He raised his wand, secretly aiming at Ron's back.

All's fair in war! Weasley!

Charlie raised an eyebrow.

So dishonorable? Who did he learn that from? Lucius doesn't teach anything good.

However, Charlie had no intention of stopping him.

It wasn't some malicious Spell; how was it any different from playing around?

"Tarantallegra!"

A red light shot out, but it went astray, grazing past Ron and hitting the nearby suit of armor.

The armor immediately began to twist, its limbs flailing as if it were tap-dancing.

Ron and Harry spun around, and Ron instantly pulled out his wand. "You despicable..."

But at that moment, a white light flashed, striking Draco.

Draco's body instantly shrank, turning into a white ferret.

Charlie was startled and sharply turned his head to look.

Professor Moody limped over, his magical eye spinning wildly, fixed on the ferret on the ground.

"No sneak attacks, boy," Moody's voice was deep and hoarse.

"Death Eaters love to use such tricks."

The ferret scurried around on the ground, emitting squeaking sounds.

Charlie frowned.

He had been a bit careless, too relaxed at school, without any vigilance for his surroundings.

With students and Professors all around, who would expect someone to suddenly attack?

But Moody cast a Spell on Draco this time; what about next time? If someone attacked him, would he be able to react?

Charlie's eyes darkened slightly. It seemed he still needed to be more vigilant.

Moody turned to Harry, his normal eye fixed on him, and asked somewhat anxiously.

"Are you alright?"

His magical eye, however, burrowed into its socket, still staring at the ferret on the ground.

"I'm fine," Harry shook his head.

"Draco wasn't casting a Spell on me, he was casting it on Ron."

Hearing that Harry was fine, Moody breathed a sigh of relief, but didn't even glance at Ron.

Ron felt a little uncomfortable. What did this differential treatment mean?

So old and still fawning over the savior, bah!

The ferret that Draco had become took the opportunity to scurry towards the stairs, its four short legs churning rapidly.

"Stop!" Moody suddenly turned, his magical eye instantly locking onto the ferret.

Draco froze in place, his paws suspended in mid-air, unable to advance or retreat.

Moody limped over, looking down at the ferret on the ground.

"I can't stand cowards who attack from behind," his voice was very deep.

"This is a dirty and despicable act."

Moody raised his wand and aimed it at Draco.

"You need a good lesson."

A light flashed from the tip of his wand.

Charlie waved his wand, and a barrier unfolded in front of Draco.

An invisible ripple hit the barrier, emitting a dull thud before dissipating.

Moody's magical eye sharply turned to Charlie, his pupils contracting.

"Hogwarts never physically punishes students, Professor," Charlie said calmly.

Moody sneered, his magical eye rolling in its socket.

"You're a student too. How a Professor punishes students is none of your business, unless you want to be punished too!"

Charlie didn't speak further, directly waving his wand.

A white light shot out, and Draco's body began to change, his limbs lengthening, his white fur receding, and he quickly returned to human form.

Draco lay on the ground, his face pale, gasping for breath.

"He already knows he was wrong. If you're not satisfied, you can also give him detention," Charlie said.

Moody stared at Charlie, his magical eye fixed on him, and his other normal eye also didn't move away.

Charlie's expression remained unchanged as he met Moody's gaze.

The atmosphere solidified for a few seconds.

Moody suddenly laughed, the scars on his face twisting, making him look particularly ferocious.

"Tell me your name, student."

He emphasized the word'student' heavily.

"Charlie," Charlie said calmly.

Moody's magical eye stopped spinning, and his normal eye widened slightly.

"So you are Charlie," his voice carried a certain realization.

He raised his hip flask, took a large gulp, his Adam's apple bobbing.

"I'll be watching you, Charlie."

Moody put down his hip flask and limped away.

Charlie watched Moody's retreating figure, his eyes slightly darkened.

It seemed he hadn't recognized him as the figure from that night.

Draco lay on the ground, his eyes red, tears welling up.

He clenched his teeth, staring in the direction Moody had left.

Charlie looked at his expression, raising an eyebrow.

No way, kid, you're not actually going to fight, are you?

The next second, Draco lowered his head and mumbled.

"When my father finds out... he won't let you get away with this..."

Charlie breathed a sigh of relief.

Alright, still the same Draco.

Ron was stifling laughter nearby, his shoulders shaking.

He felt extremely satisfied seeing Draco in such a sorry state. However, he didn't make any more sarcastic remarks, as Draco was miserable enough already.

Just then, hurried footsteps came from the stairs.

Professor McGonagall walked down quickly, her robes billowing behind her.

She saw the mess in the entrance hall, the armor twitching on the ground, and students gathered in a circle, all with different expressions.

"What happened?" Professor McGonagall stopped, her brows tightly furrowed.

"Professor Moody just turned Draco into a ferret," Charlie said truthfully.

"What!" Professor McGonagall's eyes widened, her voice rising an octave.

"He turned a student into a ferret?"

She turned to look at Draco on the ground. Draco was slowly getting up, his face pale, his body still trembling slightly.

Professor McGonagall's face instantly darkened.

"Where is Professor Moody?"

Charlie pointed towards the end of the corridor.

"He went that way."

Professor McGonagall took a deep breath and turned to walk in that direction. She walked very fast, still muttering.

"This Moody, he's absolutely outrageous! What does he think this place is!"

Her voice grew fainter and fainter, finally disappearing down the corridor.

Charlie watched Professor McGonagall's retreating figure, a slight smile playing on his lips.

This new Professor is so arrogant, he definitely needs some trouble.
