If you don't trust anyone, they can't let you down.
Zane had many people on whom he could trust but when it comes to Milo, he trusted no one but himself.
Now Milo's death had a reward and the reward wasn't meager. It was enough to lure the mightiest of warriors.
She was with the uncle and aunt of Xavier and since Zane trusted no one, he didn't trust that couple as well.
That was why he told Xavier that he wanted to meet Milo but this one request of Zane, forced Xavier to stop his loyalty for a second.
He didn't like it. He didn't like his best friend questioning his uncle and aunt. They were like Xavier's parents. Questioning them was like questioning Xavier.
By such an act of Zane, Xavier's loyalty dropped from hundred to ninety five percent.
But Zane couldn't care less about it right now.
He wanted assurance of Milo's safety and he would not stop at anything until he got that.
