Chapter 52 - Any Would Do

It wasn't that Reis didn't understand the bored guardian's manipulation tactics. His having better mana management would clearly improve the quality of the 'offerings'. 

Yvaion's intentions were clear. That was the guardian's only compensation. 

But Reis also knew he couldn't stay as the shrimp. No one could in this world. Not even a common farmer. He'd need power in the long run, even if it was to get away from power. 

Not a lot. Definitely not too much if that was even possible. 

This was a necessary evil. And the offerings did make this demon more generous with his assistance. 

He still wanted to dawdle, though. At least until the system came back and he could ask for some other way to do this. 

Reis did get to do that for another two hours. 

But two hours was nothing, and in the end, he still found himself sitting on grass in some unknown destination.
