So bright…
A month's worth of electricity bill kind of bright.
It had only begun to snow two days ago, but everything was already coated with a nice layer of white. White was practically shining like glass thanks to the artificial lights.
Did it count as artificial if it was done with magic though? Reis wasn't sure.
He didn't move for the first few minutes after getting down from the carriage. Partly because he wasn't exactly sure if the road was slippery or not. But mostly due to confusion.
Confusion as to why people were staring at him so openly. Yes, openly. Not looking away when he turned, simply gawking.
That shouldn't happen. Rumors were was pretty hush-hush. People knew what happened, why it happened and how a foreigner was involved, but that was it. The public was not supposed to know what he looked like.
And he wouldn't think it was because he was oh so handsome. Then people would be blushing, visibly, because apparently, the evening looked like morning today.
