Chapter 9 - Bell test

The next morning, he got up at four had breakfast and went to the ground getting there at the same time As Sakura and Sasuke.

*As Naruto arrived at the training ground, he saw Sakura and Sasuke already there. They were both silent, their expressions serious. He could see the nervousness in Sakura's eyes, but Sasuke's face was unreadable as always.*

"Sakura, I want you to know that what I said to you yesterday wasn't personal. It's just the cold hard truth this world isn't easy and if you're not strong enough, you can die. someone isn't always gonna be there to save you. You have to be able to save yourself."

*Sakura froze at Naruto's words, her pink hair shifting slightly in the morning breeze. She looked at him, her green eyes filled with disbelief at first. She opened her mouth to argue, to say he was being cruel, but then she saw the sincerity in his blue eyes. He wasn't mocking her - he was telling her the harsh reality.*

*She bit her lip, nodding slowly.* "I... understand," *she said quietly, her voice steadier than she expected.* "Thanks for the wake-up call, Naruto."

*Sasuke watched their exchange silently, a flicker of interest crossing his face. He had expected Naruto to dismiss Sakura entirely, but this conversation... it was unexpected.*

He sat down on the tree and went to sleep.

*Sakura and Sasuke exchanged surprised glances as Naruto simply sat down on a nearby tree trunk and closed his eyes, seemingly going back to sleep. Sakura felt both annoyed and impressed - how could he be so calm about this survival test? But then again, this was probably easy for him.*

*Sasuke, usually the quiet one, spoke up unexpectedly.* "He's not wrong, you know," *he said to Sakura, keeping his voice low.* "About having to be able to save yourself." *Sakura looked at him shocked - was Sasuke actually giving her advice?*

*Sasuke continued, his gaze distant as he thought back to his own rough upbringing.* "In the real world, no one's gonna save you. You have to be strong enough to survive on your own. Naruto's harsh, but he's not wrong."

*Sakura felt a chill run down her spine at Sasuke's words. They were harsh, like a cold wind against her face, but there was a truth to them that she couldn't deny. She looked at Naruto sleeping peacefully on the tree trunk, his face relaxed and calm.*

*Two hours later, right on schedule, Kakashi Sensei arrived at the training ground. He saw Naruto sleeping on the tree trunk and Sasuke and Sakura sitting quietly nearby. He smirked slightly - this was going to be an interesting survival test.* "Alright everyone," he called out loudly.

Naruto, woke up and looked at him."Ah, finally awake, Naruto?" Kakashi teased as Naruto rubbed his eyes and sat up, stretching his arms overhead. "Alright, listen up everyone. Today's survival test is simple - you have to take these two bills before noon."said Kakashi as he took out two bells and an alarm clock

"But wait, there's only two ball and there's three of us."

"Exactly," Kakashi replied with a smirk, "You're right, Naruto. There are only two bells and three of you. So, one person is going to be left without a bell by noon. And whoever doesn't have a bell... fails the test and gets sent back to the academy."

*Sakura's eyes widened in realization, and she looked at Sasuke and Naruto nervously. This wasn't just a test of survival skills - it was a test of strategy and maybe even friendship. Kakashi checked his watch.* "You have five hours until noon. Good luck,"*Kakashi watched as the three students disappeared into the trees, a small smile playing on his lips. He knew this test would push them to their limits; both physically and mentally. He adjusted his hat, leaning against a tree as he waited for the inevitable chaos to begin.*

Naruto quickly and quietly made his way through the trees, his footstep silent. He found Sasuke leaning against a tree, his eyes sharp and alert. "Sasuke," Naruto whispered, getting his attention. They both knew that Sakura was probably nearby, listening.

"I think this is a test of unity. I think all three of us have to work together to get the bills in order to pass."

*Sasuke's expression remained serious as he listened to Naruto. After a moment, he nodded in agreement.* "You're probably right," *he admitted quietly.* "If we start fighting over the bells, we'll all fail."

(If the original Naruto said something like this, Sasuke would have refused to listen, but given how this one is more serious and doesn't usually ask for help, Sasuke knows it's serious) he thought

*Naruto and Sasuke exchanged a glance, both knowing that finding Sakura was their next step. They moved quietly through the forest, their senses on high alert for any sign of her. After a few minutes, they heard the rustling of bushes nearby.*

*As they approached the sound, they saw Sakura crouching behind a bush, her eyes focused on Kakashi in the distance. She didn't notice them right away, so Naruto cleared his throat softly to get her attention. She jumped slightly, then relaxed when she saw it was them.*

"Come on," Naruto whispered, waving her over. "We need to stick together if we're gonna pass this test." Sakura nodded and joined them, her expression serious. "So what's the plan?" she asked in a low voice, looking between Naruto and Sasuke.

"Me and Sasuke are going to attack him. You are going to try and get the Bell.

"That's a good plan," Sasuke said quietly, nodding in approval. "We'll keep Kakashi busy, and you can sneak in and grab the bells." Sakura bit her lip, looking nervous but determined. "Okay, I can do that," she said quietly.

"Sasuke, what Jitsu do you know?"

*Sasuke's eyes narrowed slightly at Naruto's question, his mind quickly cataloguing his available jutsu. He kept his voice low so that Sakura wouldn't hear.* "I've got, some basic shuriken skills, and I know the fireball Jesu,"

"Good enough," *Naruto whispered back with a small nod. He turned to Sakura, keeping his voice low.* "As soon as we start attacking Kakashi, you make a run for those bells, got it?" Sakura nodded, her eyes determined. "Got it," she whispered.

Naruto quickly used the shadow clone Jitsu and had some of the clones transformed into Sasuke. " fire style: fire bullet." said Naruto, the clones and the real Sasuke.

*Kakashi's smirk faded slightly as he found himself facing multiple Sasuke clones, each launching fireballs at him. He quickly dodged the techniques, but the sheer number of attacks was overwhelming. Meanwhile, Sakura saw her opportunity and dashed towards the bells.*

*Kakashi was too busy dodging the fireballs to notice Sakura sneaking up behind him. She reached out and grabbed both bells, her heart racing with excitement and fear. Just as she was about to run back to Naruto and Sasuke, Kakashi suddenly turned around.*

" oh no, you don't air style: air bullet." yelled Naruto.

*Naruto's air bullet hit Kakashi square in the chest, knocking him back and giving Sakura the opening she needed. She quickly ran back to Naruto and Sasuke, holding up the bells triumphantly. Kakashi coughed, laughing softly.* "Not bad," he admitted.

*The sudden ringing of the timer echoed through the forest, signaling the end of the test. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura all looked up in surprise, their hearts still pounding from the intense battle. Kakashi grinned widely, clapping his hands together.* "Time's up!" he announced loudly.

*Kakashi walked over to them, his expression turning serious as he looked at the three of them. "You passed," he said, holding out his hand for the bells. Sakura handed them over, her cheeks flushed with excitement and relief. "But," Kakashi added, "there's one more thing."

*Kakashi pulled out a small scroll from his pocket and unrolled it, revealing three small boxes. He handed one to each of them. "Open it," he said simply. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura all opened their boxes curiously, revealing food.* "You've earned these, it's lunchtime anyways" Kakashi said with a small smile.

*Naruto grinned widely, grabbing his food and sitting down next to Sasuke and Sakura. They all ate together quietly, the tension from the test slowly fading. Kakashi sat nearby, watching them with a satisfied expression.*

"Did anyone figure it out?" he asked suddenly. "The true purpose of this test?"

*Naruto swallowed his food and looked at his sensei.*

"Teamwork."

*Kakashi nodded approvingly at Naruto's answer.* "Exactly," he said. "This test wasn't just about your individual skills or strength. It was about working together as a team. Communication, coordination, and trusting each other—that's what makes a real ninja team."

*Sasuke and Sakura both nodded in agreement, understanding the importance of teamwork. Kakashi continued.* "And I'm proud to say, you three worked together perfectly. You complement each other's strengths and weaknesses, and that's what makes you a powerful team." *He paused, smiling at them.*

*Naruto beamed with pride, Sasuke's expression softened slightly, and Sakura looked genuinely happy. Kakashi stood up, brushing off his clothes.* "Alright, teamwork lesson over. Eat up and get some rest. You've earned it."
