The spontaneous emergence of Baryon Mode in this illusionary world had nothing to do with Makoto's group.
It was a natural, albeit terrifying, development of the world's own internal logic.
In the final scene of the mirage, Nohara Rin had physically severed her karmic ties to the mortal world—by manually removing the source of the pheromone affliction.
Combined with Kakashi repeatedly mentioning Orochimaru's medical expertise, this sequence of raw trauma catalyzed Rin's transformation into a cold, rational scientist.
Baryon Mode mimics the process of nuclear fusion.
Since Tailed Beasts are essentially massive constructs of pure chakra that naturally revive even after death, they serve as the perfect fuel.
If they are not completely killed, their chakra recovery is even faster.
By binding the Six-Tails and Three-Tails and using them as renewable fuel for the fusion reaction, Rin could sustain Baryon Mode indefinitely as long as she carefully managed the chakra extraction rate.
Given her ability to wield continuous Baryon Mode, it was no surprise that the masked man in this timeline had been effortlessly killed.
As Makoto had analyzed before, Kamui's intangibility is not a passive state; it requires the user's brain to actively engage the technique.
If Minato had survived the Nine-Tails attack in the original history, he could have killed the masked man simply by teleporting in with the Flying Thunder God and striking before Obito could react.
The situation here was identical.
During the future Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto's speed in Nine-Tails Mode led the Raikage to believe it rivaled the Flying Thunder God.
Yet, Isshiki Ōtsutsuki could still utterly dominate that version of Naruto with pure speed.
In turn, Baryon Mode's speed easily dominated Isshiki.
At those extreme velocities, space-time ninjutsu lost its absolute advantage.
A resolute Nohara Rin could strike before her opponent even processed the thought to activate their ocular jutsu.
Furthermore, Makoto was not entirely certain if this world's Rin had harvested Kakashi's Sharingan before leaving the cave
If she had, they would be facing a Baryon Mode monstrosity with double-Kamui capabilities—an opponent capable of phasing through attacks while moving at nuclear speeds.
It was the ultimate embodiment of a nightmare.
Against such a foe, Makoto could not afford to leave even the slightest opening.
Even knowing that this Rin possessed the highly coveted formula for controllable Baryon Mode, Makoto did not succumb to greed.
Instead of dragging out the battle to steal her research, he made the decisive choice to eliminate the threat immediately.
Such knowledge could be acquired through careful research in the real world later.
Time began to flow again.
Poof.
"Hmm?"
Uchiha Hikari watched as the woman held firmly in one of her Susanoo's arms instantly disintegrated into a cloud of ash.
Makoto stood calmly nearby, lowering his fist.
She immediately understood what had transpired within the frozen time.
With Nohara Rin's death, the crimson chakra chains binding Mei Terumi and Konan shattered into light.
It was fortunate that this timeline's Rin had not accumulated too many of Orochimaru's unnatural enhancements.
Although she had begun researching forbidden jutsu, she never formally collaborated with the snake Sannin.
She had no Curse Mark and no Edo Tensei resurrection contingencies.
When she died, she was truly dead.
Seeing Makoto effortlessly defeat the threat did not bring Mei and Konan any joy.
Rin's final words, combined with Makoto and Hikari's lack of hesitation, had laid bare a disturbing truth.
"What she said earlier... it was true, was it not?" Konan asked slowly.
As the intelligence specialist of the Akatsuki, Konan possessed a deep, analytical understanding of the Shinobi World.
This made her acutely aware of how plausible it was that their entire reality was a fabricated illusion.
"That is right," Makoto said, seeing no reason to hide the truth now that they had reached the end.
"This world is a Limited Tsukuyomi projection created by Mangekyō Sharingan, powered by the vast chakra of the Gedo Statue. Our only purpose here was to secure the unique chakra sequences of the Tailed Beasts and transfer them to the real world."
"You are after the Tailed Beasts?" Konan's expression darkened slightly. "Does the real world also teem with perverted, fetishistic individuals obsessed with furry beasts?"
Learning she was merely a construct had left Konan feeling hollow, but Makoto's mission made the real world sound just as miserable.
"Uh, not exactly," Makoto corrected, scratching his cheek. "But the bonds between some of the male ninja in the real world seem... excessively deep. There is definitely a different kind of intense obsession there."
"Oh. Well, that still sounds significantly better than this place," Konan sighed in relief.
"..."
After that revelation, the two women fell into a prolonged, stunned silence.
As they slowly processed their own non-existence, Konan asked a few questions about the real Akatsuki, while Mei inquired about the real Kirigakure.
Through Makoto's deadpan descriptions, they realized the base reality was indeed far more logical than the one they inhabited.
"It is done. Now what?"
After systematically draining the Three-Tails and Six-Tails into the real world, Hikari returned to Makoto's side, glancing at the two shell-shocked women.
"Release the technique," Makoto said, showing no trace of reluctance.
Even if staying here meant he could play god in a world of illusions, he had no interest in lingering.
"Alright."
Hikari took a deep breath, and a powerful ripple of ocular chakra spread outward from her eyes.
The environment around them began to dissolve, emitting a faint white light as the trees, earth, and sky turned transparent.
Simultaneously, the visual barrier concealing the audience in the sky vanished entirely.
As Konan surveyed the fading surroundings, she looked up and noticed the massive crowd of spectators hovering above them.
"Have they been watching us this entire time? And... the real-world version of him has known us for that long?" Konan mused, spotting the real Akatsuki members.
"Why is there no real-world version of me up there?" Mei Terumi complained, her tone tinged with clear resentment at missing out on the actual Makoto.
The Limited Tsukuyomi World was rapidly collapsing, shattering all the boundaries that had sustained it—including the veil between life and death.
Nohara Rin, whom Makoto had obliterated moments ago, was slowly ascending into the fading sky as a cluster of spiritual light.
Suddenly, she locked eyes with the Edo Tensei version of Rin hovering in the spectator stands above.
'So this is the real world,' the illusionary Rin thought.
The moment their eyes met, they were pulled into a shared space of consciousness.
With Edo Rin's silent consent, the dying Rin was able to witness her true self's recent experiences in the real world.
"What a beautiful, normal world," the fading Rin murmured softly. "Kakashi and Obito must be very happy together."
Edo Rin paused, violently startled by the remark.
Then she realized that her counterpart had just skimmed her recent memories from the Konoha medical ward—specifically the tense, highly questionable scene where the masked man was aggressively force-feeding Hashirama cells to Kakashi on a hospital bed.
"Never mind," the illusionary Rin sighed, deciding not to question the bizarre nature of their bond.
"Illusions always fade, but knowledge does not... or at least, it should not, right?"
Realizing that her true self was currently the Three-Tails Jinchūriki back in the real world, the fading Rin compiled her life's work.
With her final moments of consciousness, she transferred the complete, perfected formula for controllable Baryon Mode directly into Edo Rin's mind.
