The pupils in Assad's eyes shook, and his breathing began to stutter. He had several more stutters that continued to be worse than the previous ones.
Sweat soaked his body, he trembled uncontrollably. His heart pounded so violently it drowned out everything else.
Looking through their head at him, the Original tilted its head from side to side and frowned.
"Wow...you are really blowing this out of proportion."
They took one more step closer; and one more red flower appeared where their foot landed.
"That was not the response I expected...from a person that has just murdered 800 people."
As he shook his head back and forth, he muttered out loud something about how this whole situation from the very beginning, in fact, cannot possibly be true. His voice wavered, yet he held onto that one small shred of hope as if it was the only thing to keep him continuing on in this world.
He kept saying to himself that he had to go "to sleep." So, to help with this, he would close his eyes, trying to dream; to wake, so as to get back to the nightmare.
After some time, he opened his eyes again; only this time he found the same thing waiting before him, the Original, still there gazing back at him. So, now he was able to feel as though there was the possibility to flee this nightmare by any means possible until he had no choice but to stop holding his breath and to see what nothing looked like.
So again, after a long time, the Original was still there waiting for him. Then, finally, after a long time and still trying to convince himself of what his mind was telling him was indeed true, he was ready to give in.
'WAKE UP'
Thus, he again opened his eyes to see yet the same sight as he had seen previously; the same void, nothing and the same figure, just staring at him again.
Every single time, he had been looking for some glimmer of hope, but every single time the world has denied him and has not changed.
His breath was now in a random pattern and he was breathing in little gasps. The fear was settling into his chest and the sweat was running off the end of his chin. He was shaking and desperately trying to find something different all around him.
He was trying to find something that would prove to him that this was not real. There was only white emptiness and the Original.
"Are you finished yet?"
The voice spoke in the silence and was calm and sounded board with him. Assad stopped and slowly turned his head to look at the Original who had not moved at all not even a single step.
"Is this not just a dream?"
The original gazed at Assad with a disappointed look on their face.
"Pathetic. And this is the man who killed eight hundred?"
Assad suddenly dropped to his knees, but for what reason?
"It appears you are struggling with the realization of how you've lived your life. Accepting the fact that you were killed before arriving at this location. So let's go back to the memories of your victim, shall we?"
Assad lifted his head slowly.
The original snapped their fingers and the white area began to change and the scene that appeared was the first time that we see Assad back on the planet in Toon Horst with a gun that he had just fired, staring at his deceased but former co-worker to whom he had just shot.
Assad was stunned at the sight that had just appeared on the screen; the scene flickered and a different scene appeared. This time it was the day that he had snapped the neck of the individual that had formerly been his co-worker, but who had also been one of the group that had previously attempted to have him killed.
The void flickered once more before showing yet another ,memory of the original's past. This memory was of the time he killed a family of four for the fun of it.
Two more flickers showed him killing an entire police force in Amsterdam in less than 8 hours without breaking a sweat. Many more memories followed as Assad showed significant evidence of being a completely different person while he was still known as Toon Horst.
There was one memory of him blowing up an entire building because the employees annoyed him and yet another memory showed him killing a woman he called "slutty" because she tried to deceive him out of his money.
"I can't believe you were such an evil bastard on Earth. I'd be scared to death to see you do any of this. Even I have to admit, you were worse than me."
The Originals face was frozen when they noticed his own reaction. He became immediately excited and afraid at the same time. He was not expecting this next Memory.
Assad was crying with a huge smile on his face. This was not the smile of regret or guilt, but of acceptance and evil.
"The hell you're making that psychotic face for…you fuckin' demon.?"
As Assad gazed upon the pictures he was looking at finally gave him a reason to start laughing quietly, until bit by bit he started to get louder, until finally he could no longer control himself. The cries of all those he had killed were obviously entertaining him.
"Every single one of them deserved to die.I was not in the wrong at all."
But immediately after laughter and the crazed smile on his face ended as he looked at what came next. What felt like happiness on his end all of sudden ceased to exist because of what he saw next.
The original couldn't comprehend what took everyone out of laughter to check to see why Assad could no longer be laughed at, laughing himself.
"What does it matter what you are showing me? That would have been the last thing I would have ever done!"
"You did not matter, just don't say anything dumb, because obviously you were looking at a photo smiling of exactly what happened in that photo."
"But anyhow, why show me this? How ever possible can I live the rest of my life with guilt from what I just accomplished?"
The original didn't care and laughed at Assad. Then the originals took their hands and put their hands on Assad's face as he stared into the scene.
So when Assad fought against looking, he looked another way, but since the original was stronger, he was forced to see it again, even to go back to the very beginning.
So the scene was of Assad shown as Toon Horst as a nine-year-old, bloody faced child and also bloody t-shirt and as he raised his younger arm and showed that his knife was bloody, and then looking with evil smiles at the two people he just killed.
"Sorry, mommy and daddy. You've both never cared for me and never wanted to express what you felt for me. My mother always says I am the second born to the devil Satan since I was born and my father says the same thing. Why? I don't understand, but I'll never again see you both and we will never meet in hell even after I die."
Staring at a younger version of himself, as Toon Horst smiled and felt no remorse for what he had done to his parents all those years ago, gave Assad an indication as to whether or not the individuals in his current life were his true parents.
The people who he worried about were not really his biological parents or even close relatives; they were merely people who had raised him as an adopted child, whom he had grown to love and learned how to be a good child from.
"You don't get to forget, not a single scream and not a single drop of blood; you have been a murderer from the day you arrived into this world," said his original self.
"No, you are wrong to say that!" replied Assad.
He struggled to get past the memories of the past, and then a very strange thing happened: all of the guilt he was attempting to rid himself of by using what he thought would be a red-hot iron would become affixed to him; the guilt would not leave his side.
After letting go of Assad's face, his original self stepped in front of him, crouched down to his level, and stated the following:
"Now that your memory of your past is restored, accept it as a part of yourself, and embrace your true self. You are now the Divine Demon, as everyone has called you."
