Ava can feel her hands shaking as she walks out on Rossana. She has never lashed out at anyone in such a manner. She can hear her heart beating loud in her chest as if the altercation has been more than it was.
She looks around the corridor leading to the palace gate to make sure no one is following her.
She can make out two guards at the gate with their guns hoisted on their shoulders. She has to do something to distract them. Simon is probably on the other side of the door, waiting for her since yesterday.
She braces herself, opening a door directly beside her. She pulls the nub and the door gives a creaking sound before giving way to a dark room that smells of dust. She claws her way through the dark and finds the switch. Light gives way and large sacks surround her.
