Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8

CHAPTER 8,The Observer Has Arrived

Jay didn't sleep again that night.

He sat on the edge of his bed, staring at the floor, his thoughts refusing to settle. The faint red flicker he had seen in his own eyes kept replaying in his mind again and again.

It wasn't imagination.

It wasn't a trick of light.

It was real.

And that made everything worse.

Jay ran his hand through his hair and exhaled slowly.

"What is happening to me…?"

No answer came.

Only silence filled the room.

Hours passed.

The night grew deeper.

And eventually, the darkness outside began to fade.

Morning came faster than he expected.

But this time, it didn't feel calm.

Jay stood in front of the mirror again.

His eyes looked normal.

Completely normal.

No red glow.

No sign of anything unusual.

If not for last night, he would have believed nothing had changed.

But now—

He knew something had.

Jay grabbed his bag and left the house without saying much.

The school felt different today.

Not just in his mind.

But in reality.

The moment Jay entered the gate, he could feel it.

The whispers had increased.

Students didn't even try to hide it anymore.

"That's him…"

"I heard he beat three seniors alone…"

"No, I heard it was five…"

"His eyes turned red…"

Jay walked past them, ignoring everything.

But inside—

The tension was building.

Something felt… unstable.

Like a storm waiting to break.

When he entered the classroom, the reaction was immediate again.

Silence.

Eyes.

Distance.

Jay walked to his seat and sat down without saying a word.

Aisha glanced at him from the side.

She looked like she wanted to ask something.

But before she could—

The classroom door opened.

And this time—

The teacher wasn't alone.

A tall man walked in behind her.

He wasn't a student.

And he definitely wasn't a normal teacher either.

The moment he stepped inside—

The entire atmosphere shifted.

His presence was… heavy.

Not physically.

But something deeper.

Something that made even the air feel tense.

He looked around the classroom slowly.

Observing each student carefully.

His eyes were sharp.

Too sharp.

As if he could see through people.

Jay's body reacted instantly.

A strange chill ran down his spine.

His instincts screamed—

Danger.

The man's gaze moved across the room.

One by one.

Until—

It stopped.

On Jay.

For a moment—

Everything else faded.

Jay felt it clearly.

That man was not just looking at him.

He was studying him.

Analyzing him.

Like he had already found what he was searching for.

The man's eyes narrowed slightly.

Then—

A faint smile appeared on his face.

Not friendly.

Not warm.

But knowing.

The teacher spoke, breaking the silence.

"Class, this is Mr. Arvind. He will be observing students for a special program."

Whispers spread instantly.

"Special program?"

"What does that mean?"

Jay didn't move.

His eyes were still locked on the man.

Mr. Arvind.

The man finally looked away.

But something didn't feel right.

It felt like he had already made a decision.

The class continued.

But the atmosphere remained tense.

Mr. Arvind walked slowly between the rows, watching students as they wrote, answered questions, or simply sat quietly.

Sometimes he stopped beside a student.

Asked a question.

Observed their reaction.

Then moved on.

But every few minutes—

His eyes returned to Jay.

And every time that happened—

Jay felt that same strange pressure.

As if something inside him was reacting.

Responding.

Without his control.

Jay clenched his fist under the desk.

"Why is he looking at me like that…?"

Then—

It happened.

For just a second—

Jay's vision flickered.

The classroom disappeared.

Darkness replaced it.

And in that darkness—

The shadow stood.

Closer than ever before.

Its presence stronger.

More intense.

And this time—

It spoke immediately.

"He sees you."

Jay's breath hitched.

"What…?"

But before he could say anything else—

The vision vanished.

The classroom returned.

Jay blinked rapidly.

His heart was racing.

He looked up—

And froze.

Mr. Arvind was standing right in front of him.

Looking directly into his eyes.

As if he knew exactly what had just happened.

The man leaned slightly closer.

His voice was low.

Only Jay could hear it.

"So… it has started."

Jay's eyes widened.

"What are you talking about?"

Mr. Arvind straightened.

A faint smile returned to his face.

"You'll understand soon."

That word again.

Soon.

Jay's chest tightened.

Before he could ask anything else, the man turned and walked away.

Leaving Jay sitting there—

More confused than ever.

After the class ended, Mr. Arvind left with the teacher.

But the effect he left behind didn't disappear.

Students immediately began talking again.

But this time—

They weren't just talking about yesterday.

They were talking about him.

Jay.

And that strange man.

Aisha leaned slightly toward him.

"Did you feel that?" she whispered.

Jay didn't look at her.

"…Yeah."

"That man… he's not normal."

Jay gave a small, quiet response.

"I know."

But deep inside—

He understood something else.

That man knew something.

About him.

About the shadow.

About the red eyes.

And for the first time—

Jay realized something clearly.

He wasn't just dealing with a mystery anymore.

He was being watched.

Not just by the shadow inside him.

But by someone in the real world too.

That evening—

As the sun began to set again—

Jay stood alone on the rooftop of his house.

The wind blew softly around him.

The sky was painted in shades of orange and purple.

Jay looked at his hand.

Then slowly—

He closed his eyes.

"Show yourself," he whispered.

For a moment—

Nothing happened.

Then—

A faint red glow flickered beneath his eyelids.

And deep inside his mind—

The shadow smiled.
