"Kurosaki-kun," she sniffled. "You cut the fate string."
"It was fake, Inoue," Ichigo said, looking away, blushing slightly. "Besides... even if it was real... I would have cut it."
"Why?"
Ichigo looked at her. "Because I don't want you connected to anyone else."
Orihime's face turned five different shades of red. "Oh. OH."
She smiled, a beam of pure sunshine. "Okay! I want bread!"
(Task Failed successfully? No, Task Complete. He is emotionally constipated, but he got the point across.)

Ethan arrived in a mind that was cluttered with calculus equations and thoughts about entomology.
(Gohan! Put down the book!)
Gohan sat in the university library, surrounded by stacks of textbooks. He adjusted his thick glasses. "Who is that? Is that you, Piccolo? Are you teaching me telepathy again?"
(No, I am the System. And while you are studying Advanced Physics, a man named Maximus is currently in the campus gym trying to impress Videl. He claims to have 'Ki Control' superior to anyone on Earth.)
Gohan laughed nervously. "Well, Videl is strong. She won't be easily impressed."
(He is not impressing her with strength. He is impressing her with 'Movie Magic'. He is a Transmigrator who uses pyrotechnics and wire-fu to fake Ki blasts. He is telling her that your martial arts are 'outdated' and that you are just a bookworm who forgot how to fight. He is challenging her to a spar to 'teach' her.)
Gohan's expression tightened. "He is challenging Videl? Is he dangerous?"
(He is a fraud. But accidents happen when frauds try to fight. If he uses his hidden flamethrower device on her, she could get hurt. You need to intervene. But... Gohan, you cannot reveal your identity. No Super Saiyan. No flying.)
"Right," Gohan said, standing up. "I will go check it out."
(And fix your vest. You look like a grandfather.)

Location: Satan City University Gym.
A crowd had gathered around the boxing ring. Inside, Videl was sparring with Maximus.
Maximus was a tall, muscular man with flowing blonde hair and a dazzling white gi. He moved with a theatrical flair.
"Hah!" Maximus shouted, thrusting his palm forward. A small explosive charge hidden in his glove detonated, creating a flash of light and a puff of smoke. BANG.
The crowd cheered. "Did you see that? He fired a Ki blast!"
Videl dodged, but she looked impressed. "That was... fast. I didn't even sense the energy build-up."
"That is because I have mastered 'Void Ki'," Maximus lied smoothly. "Unlike Gohan, who relies on brute force, I use refined technique. Come, Videl. Let me show you the 'Touch of the Dragon'."
He reached out to grab her waist, ostensibly to correct her stance.
(He is getting handsy, Gohan. Get in there.)
Gohan pushed through the crowd. He looked like a nerd—sweater vest, khakis, glasses.
"Excuse me!" Gohan called out. "Videl! Are you okay?"
Maximus stopped, sneering at Gohan. "Ah, the scholar arrives. Did you get lost on the way to the library, bookworm?"
The crowd laughed.
Videl lowered her guard. "Gohan, I am fine. Maximus is just showing me some new techniques."
"Techniques?" Gohan stepped into the ring. He didn't take a fighting stance. He stood awkwardly, hands in his pockets. "I... I think his Ki is strange. It smells like gunpowder."
Maximus stiffened. "Gunpowder? Nonsense! It is the smell of pure energy scorching the air! You wouldn't understand, you civilian."
Maximus decided to humiliate Gohan to seal the deal. "Since you are here, Gohan, why don't we spar? Unless you are afraid of getting your sweater dirty?"
Videl looked concerned. "Maximus, Gohan doesn't really fight anymore..."
"I accept," Gohan said politely.
(Okay, Gohan. Remember: DO NOT PUNCH HIM. If you punch him, his head will come off. We just want to humiliate him. Use 'The Clumsy Dodge'. Make him defeat himself.)
"Begin!" a student shouted.
Maximus lunged, aiming a high kick at Gohan's head.
Gohan sneezed.
"Achoo!"
As he sneezed, Gohan bent forward abruptly. Maximus's kick sailed over Gohan's head. The momentum of the missed kick caused Maximus to spin wildly.
"Whoa!" Maximus flailed.
He tried to recover with a 'Ki Blast' (pyrotechnic glove). He thrust his hand at Gohan's face.
Gohan, rubbing his nose, swatted at the air. "Is there a mosquito in here?"
SWAT.
Gohan's hand moved faster than sound. The air pressure from his 'swat' hit Maximus's glove.
CRUNCH.
The hidden mechanism in the glove shattered. The fuel canister inside ruptured.
FWOOSH.
Green slime (dye from the special effect) exploded all over Maximus's face.
"My eyes!" Maximus screamed, clutching his face, which was now covered in green goo. "The special effects... I mean, my Ki! It is unstable!"
The crowd went silent.
"Special effects?" Videl asked, stepping closer. She sniffed the air. "That is definitely chemical dye."
Gohan stood up straight, adjusting his glasses. "Oh, dear. Did your Void Ki leak?"
Maximus scrambled backward, slipping on the slime. He fell out of the ring, landing in a heap of tangled wires that fell out of his gi—wires used for his 'levitation' trick.
"He is a fake!" someone shouted. "Look at the wires!"
Videl looked at Maximus with pure disgust. Then she looked at Gohan.
Gohan was looking at her with that goofy, innocent smile. "Are you hungry, Videl? I think I have a coupon for burgers."
