AKAME ASSASINATION (17)
The Blight household consists of over 1000 members, some of who are non-combatants and others who are. It should be noted, however, that all members of the Blight household receive some form of specialized training from a very young age. Now whether this training is ethical and coincides with the Vatican's rules still remains to be seen, but they are the best Assassin family in the entire Western hemisphere.
Some Blights aren't really related by blood, or are distant relatives this means that most members might not be able to recognize each other by facial structure or by the colour of their iris. Donovan Blight isn't that powerful in the Blight household, in fact he probably isn't even among the top 10. However, that isn't to discredit the amount of power he holds.
Just by his presence alone Gil was left speechless. The girl too, her senses had been bypassed by this man.
POOF!
He jumped down from the branch with his hands in his pocket. He then looked at the two.
"Well then, are you gonna tell me or do I have to pry the answers from your corpses?" His face showcased no emotion as he said this. It reminded Gil a lot of Akame.
"Ah, I'm not gonna tell you." Gil stuck his tongue out.
"Huh?"
"You didn't ask nicely, which means you're a bad guy and I don't like talking to bad guys."
The man squinted his eyes, "You're not serious."
He walked up to Gil ,who still held his right cheek, and stood in front of him. "I think you don't understand who is in charge here."
FWOOP!
A big burst of air suddenly out of nowhere sent Gil flying in the same direction as the girl had originally.
"How did he…" Before he had time to think the man was right behind him again, with such speed that Gil could only attempt to block the punch that followed his arrival. It just sent him reeling backwards, but didn't seem to leave any actual damage.
"You're really durable."
BOOM!
Donovan rushed towards Gil, but somehow Gil had managed to actually see this one coming than the ones before. He moved to the side, but mid punch Donovan switched his fist's direction which Gil hadn't anticipated.
SMACK!
Right in his lower jaw, but the brute impact didn't send him flying, oh no this time he actually took the blow.
FIST!
He landed a direct fist to Donovan's stomach which he hadn't seen coming. and if the first punch wasn't enough he actually felt another punch which sent him backwards.
' Two punches? Were they really that quickly delivered that I couldn't see both of them? No, his F.E control must still be wonky, which means the energy he had stored up was delayed and fired off leading to a second punch of pure fragment energy.' Donovan felt a pinching sensation throughout his entire body, 'My nervous system's control signal must be paralyzed, an electrical discharge perhaps. So he must be an elemental, an affinity with lightning.'
But that's wouldn't be a problem. He cracked his neck.
"!"
"You seemed surprised." Donovan said, "You trying to mimic the properties of lightning aren't you?"
"Ah… maybe I am, but I'm telling you." Gil responded.
"Well that's the reason why, you see I've endured electrical discharges on par with lightning, so you merely trying to mimic it won't hurt me let alone shut down my nervous system."
SWOOSH!
He closed the distance between them, again in an instant. "You're just outclassed kid."
He gave Gil a punch to the gut, one that made him cough up a transparent liquid. But he didn't budge. Donovan felt it as well, he concentrated fragment energy to his stomach cushioning the impact.
"Outclassed?" Gil said, "And who the hell decided that?"
There was a malicious look in his eyes as he said this to Donovan. "I'm sorry though." Gil continued, "I'm kind of tired of people telling me what to do. So if you won't ask nicely then…"
SMACK!
Gil delivered his own right hook at Donovan's face, one which sent him moving quiet a distance.
"…I'm not going to tell you anything."
SPIT!
Gil made him accidentally bite his lower lip. 'This kid might be a bigger problem than I first thought, his endurance and physical strength are nothing to scoff at. In a fight of physical strength I think I might be the one whose outclassed.'
This realization made Donovan shudder, just a little. The thought of a boy as young as Gil defeating him was crushing to the ego. But then again, he must have appeared that way to other grown men.
"Good thing fragment combat isn't about physical strength alone." He cracked his fists, "Alright, I'll bite. But know if I win you're gonna tell me where he is."
"That's not gonna happen though." Gil answered.
"Oh, you think your gonna win?" Donovan smiled, "That's good, never assume you're gonna lose in a fight regardless of your opponents arsenal."
"No I mean even if I do lose I still won't tell you anything."
ZIP!
Gil appeared in front of Donovan which sort of surprised him as he didn't expect Gil to be as fast as he was. But blocking him was the easy part of this exchange. The rest was nothing but straight hands.
FIST!
Gil tried attacking with his fist, but he was a bit slower than Donovan who read his movements and was able to move back a bit. He then launched his own attack at Gil in the form of a kick to the face, but Gil blocked it with right arm although the force of impact did make him move a bit.
'He's added F.E to his attacks to enhance his physical capabilities, but I've done that too. Which means I must be physically weaker than him.'
Gil was wrong in his observation, something that he is bound to do in this point of his evolution. He then grabbed Donovan's leg with his left hand and with his free right he was able to use his elbow on Donovan's calf.
'Its heavy.' Donovan thought, 'His hand to hand combat skills are sloppy and need work, he is getting there though.'
That didn't affect Donovan, not one bit, he was able to quickly remove his feet from Gil's grasp before landing assaults of his own. These hand movements were incredibly fast and Gil wasn't able to block all of them.
"And for good measure."
WIND STYLE: PALM!
He hit Gil in the gut with his palm. The shock wave was so powerful it tore through Gil's clothes and sent him flying and landing on his back.
"I'ts like I said kid." Donovan dust off his hands, "You are outclassed."
"I…I told you I won't tell you." Gil's voice was raspy.
"I know."
FWOOSH!
In one step he moved and grabbed the girl by the right side of her body. Her face curled as hot pain surged through her body. "But I wonder if she has the same resolve as you."
PZZZ!
BLUE, ELECTRIC DISCHARGE: THUNDER BOLT!
His technique wasn't perfect, lots of his F.E was lost to heat and sound energy and some was even lost to kinetic energy as the air molecules became ionized. But the thunder bolt had enough force to knock Donovan back.
He looked at his right arm where he held the girl, she wasn't there anymore. He then looked at Gil who now had the girl in his arms.
'Wait… did he…' Donovan stared in horror at the realization he came to, 'He shot off that thunder bolt as a distraction in which he used to grab the girl from my grasp. The electric current interrupted my nervous system making my grasp on the girl a bit weaker. But still, is it because I told him that it wouldn't affect me in the traditional way? He used that to his advantage, he played me because I just assumed and wouldn't be on guard. This boy… from that one sentence he was able to uncover a way of saving his friend. SO that's the type of person you are. Truly a genius.'
"I would advice against that." Gil was referring to Donovan trying to get answers from the girl, "She doesn't even speak English."
"Is that all?" Donovan asked.
"?"
"She's also mute, she can't speak at all."
"…" Gil looked at the girl with a shocked expression, "Seriously?"
"Its really obvious. When I grabbed her she tried letting out a scream but nothing came."
'Maybe I was praising you a bit too much, you might just be stupid. Maybe you didn't adapt and it was a fluke. Either way if I use my technique I should be able to figure it out pronto.' Donovan reached into his pocket and took out a pack of cigarettes. "Be prepared boy, this might be your last fight."
He placed a cigarette on his lip and was about to light it when suddenly.
SLICE!
Blood oozed from the place his left hand once was, the poor hand flopped on the grass which mixed its green with Donovan's red blood.
There was something that stood beside him, it snarled as it just stood there perhaps admiring its work.
With a calm expression Donovan turned to the creature beside him, "Who might you be?"
