Chapter 100 - Chapter 100: An Ensemble Across Time and Space!

The digital world was in a state of collective grief and hope. A user on Social Media, claiming to be a former crew member of the Your Lie in April production, posted a long-form essay that detailed the "miracle" of the casting process.

The essay revealed that Chloe Summers, the girl who had captured the world's heart as Kaori Miyazono, was not a professional actress found through elite agencies. She was a struggling background actor in Burbank, working for $100 a day, before Leo Vance hand-picked her for the lead.

As soon as this essay went live, it was verified by several other indie actors who had worked with Chloe on minor projects. Within hours, the story shot to the top of the global trending lists.

Trending #1: #ChloeSummersRealLie – The actress playing Kaori actually suffers from Acute Neuritis! Surgery carries a 50% mortality rate!

Trending #2: Report: Chloe Summers is currently at the Burbank Medical Center preparing for a life-or-death operation in one week!

Trending #3: #PrayForApril – Millions pray for Chloe's success, hoping she can live the healthy life Kaori dreamed of.

The comment sections across X, Instagram, and Global Stream were a sea of uniform blessings:

["May Kaori's surgery be successful! Please, God, let her stay!"]

["Chloe Summers, you are our April light. Stay strong!"]

["I've never prayed for a celebrity before, but this girl... she deserves it."]

For a time, hundreds of millions of netizens were following Chloe's condition in real-time. Many fans wanted to visit the hospital, but they feared disturbing her and affecting the pre-op preparations. Some even tried to set up GoFundMe accounts, only for Chloe herself to speak out on social media.

[Chloe Summers (@ChloeSpring): Thank you all for the love. I am very happy now. No matter what happens, I have no regrets after filming Your Lie in April. I am confident that I'll see you all again!]

When fans saw the "no regrets" part, they panicked, thinking she was jinxing herself. She eventually edited the post to be more optimistic:

[...I am confident that the surgery will be successful! Oh, and Director Leo's payment was more than enough for the medical fees, so please don't donate. Enjoy a good meal and love your lives for me.]

Netizens were moved to tears. Chloe was truly too considerate. Meanwhile, many were bombarding Leo Vance's accounts, demanding to know if Kaori recovered in the finale. Faced with the pressure of a million grieving fans, Leo could only "play dead" and stay silent.

As the drama continued to air its final episodes, Kaori Miyazono's condition on screen mirrored Chloe's real-life deterioration.

In a pivotal scene in Episode 10, Arima Kousei (Leo Vance) hadn't visited the hospital for several days, paralyzed by the fear of losing her. Kaori proactively called him, pressing him about why he was staying away. After they resolved the misunderstanding, Kaori began to walk down the hospital corridor, a determined smile on her face.

Suddenly, she fell.

Her lower body had completely lost sensation. The camera zoomed in as she struggled on the cold linoleum floor.

"Stand up!" she whispered, her voice cracking. "You are my legs! Stand up!" "Stand up! STAND UP!"

Kaori pounded her legs in a fit of powerless rage, large teardrops splashing onto the floor. She knelt there, burying her head and weeping loudly. The audience's hearts were twisted in pain. Such a wonderful girl, why must she suffer this fate? Involuntarily, they all thought of Chloe. Is she suffering like this right now?

The Day of the Finale. Burbank Medical Center.

Five days later, the finale of Your Lie in April aired. By a cruel or poetic coincidence, it was also the day of Chloe Summers' surgery.

The operation was scheduled for the afternoon. As the doctors performed the final check-ups, the finale began its global broadcast. The world was praying for two girls at once, the fictional Kaori and the real Chloe.

The episode arrived at the day of Kousei's final competition. It was the event Kaori had forced him to enter to help him overcome his trauma, but she was currently in the operating room.

Under the bright spotlights of the recital hall, Leo Vance's Kousei sat before the grand piano. Lines of text appeared on the screen:

[Ballade No. 1 in G minor]

Kousei's friends Tsubaki, Watari, and his rivals were all watching from the wings. He didn't look at them, but he could feel their presence.

"Those who called me back to this stage are watching," Kousei's monologue began. "I must respond to them!"

The beautiful, lingering piano melody began to rise and fall. Images of his family and friends flashed through his mind. "This is the sound my mother left me...""The sound my friends helped me discover...""The sound born from competition..."

As the melody accelerated, the scene intercut with the cold, sterile environment of the hospital. Kaori was being wheeled into the operating room, the heavy doors closing behind her.

Just as Kousei broke free from the "binding" of his trauma, he closed his eyes and immersed himself in a world of pure music. When he opened them again on screen, the concert hall had vanished.

The entire world had turned into a vast blue sky with a few drifting white clouds. It was a scene as beautiful as a fairy tale. Kousei performed, his notes manifesting in the sky like shimmering light. Large snowflakes began to fall slowly from the heavens.

The music became a bridge to his memories of the summer. The next second, the heavy snow suddenly stopped.

A figure appeared in his world of azure.

Kaori Miyazono.

She was as stunningly beautiful as the first day they met. She wore light makeup, a flowing white dress, and cute clips in her golden hair. She looked like an angel.

Kaori looked at Kousei, smiled gently, and picked up her violin. Kousei's mouth curved downward, and he felt a sudden, uncontrollable urge to cry.

In the real world, the "April Lie" was ending, but the miracle was only just beginning.
