How is he doing this?
Nawaki's eyes widened in disbelief. He couldn't believe Kushina didn't see the relationship between Minato and Mikoto.
Based on his understanding of Kushina, she should have already torn the roof off the house by now—
Even if she didn't cause a complete uproar, this situation was completely unexpected.
What was with this subtle and harmonious atmosphere?
After a moment's thought, Nawaki decided not to rush forward. Instead, he quickly returned home.
Soon, Tsunade arrived before Minato and the others.
"I'm back!"
"You're finally back!"
Nawaki dashed to the entrance, his face brimming with eagerness to share the gossip. "Listen, Big Sis! I just saw Minato, Kushina, and Mikoto-nee shopping for groceries together!"
"Oh?"
Tsunade's heart fluttered slightly.
Has that kid already settled things?
Though inwardly surprised, she maintained a calm expression. "So what?"
"What do you mean 'so what'?" Nawaki exclaimed in disbelief. "Aren't you curious about their relationship now?"
"What else could it be? Just some guy playing both sides, right?" Tsunade scoffed and turned toward the courtyard gate.
Just then, the three of them entered the courtyard side-by-side. Minato walked in the center, with Kushina and Mikoto flanking him on either side.
Hearing Tsunade's words, Minato smiled sheepishly. Kushina crossed her arms and huffed lightly, while Mikoto blushed and lowered her head, looking flustered.
Nawaki's mouth fell open.
Though he had long suspected something, learning the truth still left him incredulous.
"This is all my fault," Minato said seriously. "But I will take responsibility for them!"
"What are you talking about?" Kushina's face turned crimson. She quickly covered Minato's mouth, "Who asked you to take responsibility? You idiot! I— I'm just not holding it against you anymore! You're such an idiot! Minato, you big idiot!"
Mikoto remained silent, her cheeks still flushed.
Since ancient times, beautiful women have been drawn to heroes, and the Uchiha clan inherently admired strength. Even someone as gentle as Mikoto was no exception.
Before the war, she had only harbored a vague fondness for Minato. But after his successive victories against the Third Tsuchikage and Third Kazekage, though she claimed to be considering her options, her heart had already tilted toward him.
As the saying goes, one shouldn't meet someone too dazzling in their youth.
Compared to Minato, anyone else would pale in comparison.
With someone like Minato by her side, Mikoto realized it would be difficult for anyone else to ever catch her eye again.
Nawaki stared at the scene before him, dumbfounded.
Suddenly, he clapped his hands together and bowed deeply to Minato.
"Minato, we're practically brothers, right?" Nawaki said, his face earnest. "I really want to learn this! Please, teach me!"
"Why learn this instead of something good?" Tsunade snapped, kicking Nawaki flying with a swift kick.
Kushina pouted. "Lame!"
Mikoto nodded. "Exactly—"
As they spoke, they both cast meaningful glances at Minato.
Minato chuckled awkwardly and retreated into the kitchen. "I'm going to make dinner."
"Damn it! He's even playing favorites!" Nawaki clutched his aching butt with one hand and pounded the floor with the other. "Why does that bastard Minato get to learn this stuff? The jerk!"
"Because he's handsome and strong," Tsunade rolled her eyes at Nawaki. "Don't you dare learn this from him. Focus on finding a good girl, getting married, and having kids. Even though the Senju clan has integrated into the village, we're still the Clan Head's lineage. Don't you dare let the line end with you!"
"That's easy for you to say! With that guy Minato around, no girl will ever look at me!" Nawaki pouted, rubbing his sore butt as he got to his feet. "Even if he does nothing, girls will still flock to him."
"That won't happen anymore!"
Kushina clenched her fist and turned to Mikoto, her eyes burning with conviction. "Right, Mikoto-nee?"
"Mmm—"
Understanding the implication behind Kushina's words, Mikoto nodded with a smile, her tone leaving no room for doubt.
"Even if Kushina can't leave the village, I'll stick by Minato's side. I won't give anyone else a chance—not a single one!"
How naive...
Tsunade chuckled inwardly at the two girls' hasty alliance.
They're just little kids, after all. They don't understand the principle of "darkness under the lamp."
But it was for the best. With these two guarding against the outside "love rivals," Tsunade could relax a little.
"Where did this sudden, inexplicable resolve come from?" Nawaki couldn't help but grumble, seeing their earnest expressions. "By the way, have you two actually confirmed your relationship? Is it okay to just assume this?"
"Ah! I almost forgot!"
Kushina's eyes widened in alarm. She suddenly remembered that her failure to confirm her relationship was the very reason for this situation!
Forgetting all about being petty, she hurried toward the kitchen, Mikoto quickly following.
"Hey, Minato—"
Kushina ran into the kitchen, about to speak, when her face suddenly flushed crimson.
This isn't right. How can I, a girl, be the one to make the first move?
With this thought, she opened her mouth, intending to give Minato a subtle hint.
But Minato had already overheard their conversation. The moment the two entered the kitchen, he freed himself and turned to them with a serious expression.
"Kushina, Mikoto, please go out with me."
"You—I—"
Kushina's face instantly flushed crimson, a mix of embarrassment and anger swirling within her.
She was embarrassed that Minato had actually confessed to her.
She was angry that he had confessed to both of them at once.
And in the kitchen, of all places!
What a clueless bastard! Even if I'd tacitly agreed to this arrangement, he should at least have confessed separately!
"Yes!"
Mikoto suddenly spoke up, cutting off Kushina's internal turmoil.
Kushina's eyes widened in shock as she glared at Mikoto, her gaze practically screaming, You backstabbed me?!
"Let's secure our relationships first. You don't want him wandering off to flirt with other girls, do you?" Mikoto whispered in Kushina's ear. "It was one thing when we weren't official, but now that we are—all three of us—he has no excuse to be a playboy!"
She has a point!
Kushina nodded vigorously. "Okay, I agree! But Minato, you have to promise me you won't flirt with any other girls from now on!"
"I promise you both!" Minato nodded solemnly. Apart from Tsunade, he had no intention of pursuing other girls.
As for his relationship with Tsunade, he'd just take it one step at a time.
Just as he was thinking this, a sudden surge of memories flooded his mind.
The central Land of Rain, under a relentless downpour.
A blue-haired girl in tattered clothes waded through the muddy road, her feet sinking with each step. Suddenly, she stumbled, her body collapsing from exhaustion.
Am I going to die?
The girl struggled to lift her hand, touching her burning forehead. Every inch of her body ached.
Maybe dying isn't so bad? At least then I'd see Mom and Dad again...
As these thoughts faded, the girl's vision blurred.
Suddenly, an umbrella appeared above her, shielding her from the torrential rain.
Dazed, the girl felt her body lighten as someone lifted her onto their back.
She strained to turn her head, trying to see her rescuer's face.
But her fever-blurred vision soon gave way to sleep. All she remembered was a head of hair as warm and golden as the sun.
Minato's main body, having received the memory:
...Saving someone doesn't count as flirting with a girl, does it?
Because of her high fever, her vision was blurred, and she quickly fell asleep, only remembering the warm, golden-yellow hair like the sun.
The original Minato, who had received the memory:
—
Saving someone—that shouldn't count as provoking a girl, right?
