As a Jinchūriki, B had long endured cold glances from others. Even the future Killer B would not escape this fate.
There's a joke that while other Jinchūriki were isolated by their villagers, Killer B alone isolated the entire Kumogakure.
Of course, this was just a joke. Killer B's situation was no better than anyone else's; he simply had a more optimistic personality and was more open-minded about certain things.
If you set aside his status as the "Child of the Hero," Naruto's treatment among Jinchūriki was actually quite good.
"Third Raikage—"
Two jets of hot steam erupted from Gyūki's nostrils as it glared furiously at the Third Raikage.
It harbored no affection for Kumogakure, and as the leader of the village, the Third Raikage was naturally its most hated enemy.
Minato gently raised his hand, signaling Gyūki to remain calm. "I'll leave the Two-Tails to you, Gyūki."
"Ah, leave it to me."
As Gyūki spoke, his tail swished behind him, shedding a segment of octopus tentacle.
Minato pressed his hand against the Two-Tails Jinchūriki's abdomen, breaking the seal while simultaneously sealing the Eight-Tails' severed tail within the Jinchūriki's body.
Inside the Sealing Space, a large cat engulfed in blue flames observed Minato with curiosity.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Namikaze Minato, and I'm here to release you," Minato said, raising his fist.
"Ah, I see."
The Two-Tails raised its paw and placed it atop Minato's fist. "I'm Matatabi. Please guide me."
The moment Matatabi's words fell, Minato abruptly raised his hand, drawing Matatabi out of the Jinchūriki's body.
Seeing both major Tailed Beasts of the village released, the Third Raikage's expression darkened.
However, having made the wager publicly, he wouldn't go back on his word—and, more importantly, he knew he couldn't defeat Minato.
Unlike Gyūki's excitement, Matatabi remained relatively calm.
Gyūki was not inherently aggressive, and among the Tailed Beasts, its nature was relatively gentle.
"Can I destroy them?"
Gyūki turned to Minato. Hearing this, the Third Raikage immediately grew wary.
If it were only the Eight-Tails, he might have been able to handle it, but the Two-Tails was also present, and Minato had already taken the Amber Purifying Jar.
If a conflict were to erupt, Kumogakure would inevitably suffer heavy losses.
Minato shook his head. "If we destroy them, the Tailed Beasts will be completely set against humanity. I don't want that."
"Fine, for your sake."
Gyūki rumbled in a deep voice, "As long as you don't provoke me, I won't harm humans."
The Third Raikage finally relaxed, while Jinchūriki looked at Minato in astonishment.
This kid can actually coexist peacefully with a Tailed Beast?
"How did you manage this?" he asked, puzzled.
"Less scheming, more sincerity."
Minato smiled. "Perhaps it's because I don't need the power of the Tailed Beasts, so I can face them more openly?"
"Sincerity, huh..."
The Third Raikage sighed softly. For a Ninja Village that relied on the power of Tailed Beasts, this was a condition they had never possessed from the start.
After a moment of silence, he turned to Gyūki and Matatabi and said solemnly, "Kumogakure will no longer hunt Tailed Beasts. I hope the day will come when we can treat each other with sincerity and work together as allies."
"Hmph, I hope so," Gyūki grunted, though inwardly he gained a newfound respect for the Third Raikage.
Minato nodded slightly at the Third Raikage. "I've completed my business here. I'll take my leave now."
"Take care," the Third Raikage nodded.
Despite his defeat at Minato's hands and the loss of the Tailed Beast, the Third Raikage had developed a favorable impression of him after these two encounters. Minato was polite, gentle, and generous, leading with virtue rather than force. The Third Raikage was genuinely impressed.
If Minato were a member of Kumogakure, he would probably wake up laughing in his dreams.
"I'll need your help for the next few days, Gyūki," Minato said, turning to the two Tailed Beasts behind him. "Matatabi, what are your plans?"
"Can I stay with you?"
Matatabi opened her mouth, her voice a deep, authoritative, and slightly lazy tone.
"Hmm—are you asking me to become your Jinchūriki?"
Minato asked uncertainly.
To be honest, Minato quite liked Matatabi. After all, who wouldn't like a big cat? Especially one with blue flame-like skin.
However, he had no intention of becoming a Jinchūriki.
With his strength, few Tailed Beasts could truly help him; instead, their life-link would likely become a burden.
If anything, only the Nine-Tailed Beast might offer some assistance.
"I'm fine with either. After being sealed by humans once, I realized that while Tailed Beasts are powerful, we're not invincible. Even the Nine-Tails couldn't escape being sealed."
Matatabi lazily lay down, raised a paw, and gently patted Minato's head with her soft pad. "Your strength is impressive. Besides, I remember the Nine-Tails is in Konoha. Having her by your side should make things more stable. And... you're quite handsome. I don't dislike you."
Minato glanced at Gyūki, who shrugged. "Matatabi likes pretty things."
"In that case, I can introduce you to a partner."
A beautiful face suddenly flashed through Minato's mind. "She's my girlfriend, from the Uchiha Clan. They're famous for their love of cats. If you two get along, would you be willing to lend her your power?"
"Hmm, I'm willing to meet her and see how it goes," Matatabi nodded. "Anyone who can be your girlfriend must be quite attractive."
Is it about looks now?
Minato chuckled silently. Even Tailed Beasts are shallow.
"What about Gyūki? After we release the other Tailed Beasts, what are your plans?" Minato asked.
"I intend to find a quiet place to live, but I'll leave some of my chakra with you. If you ever need help, just come and find me," Gyūki rumbled.
"Understood. Let's go!"
Minato checked his bearings. "We'll head west towards the Land of Earth, passing through the Land of Waterfalls to release the Seven-Tailed Beast along the way."
"Then let's depart!"
Matatabi spoke, grabbing Minato by his collar and lifting him to her head.
Minato had expected to feel the heat of flames, but when he touched her, he found no trace of burning.
"If I don't want to, I won't burn you," Matatabi said, her voice carrying a hint of haughtiness.
Minato couldn't help but smile. "Then I'm grateful."
The Kumogakure ninjas watched the two giant beasts depart with complex expressions. Though they disliked Tailed Beasts, they had no intention of letting others steal such power.
Seeing Minato and the Tailed Beast interacting so harmoniously left them feeling utterly outmaneuvered.
In the wilderness, the two giant beasts galloped swiftly toward the Land of Earth.
Ninja from neighboring countries who witnessed this scene trembled in fear and kept their distance.
News of Minato's control over the Tailed Beast soon reached all major powers.
Upon hearing the news, Sarutobi Hiruzen and Ōnoki were both deeply worried.
Sarutobi Hiruzen: What is this kid planning?
Ōnoki: This is bad! This kid is coming for me!
