Chapter 170 - Chapter 170: Wedding night

The garden slowly emptied.

One by one.

Voices softened.

Footsteps faded.

The laughter, the music, the quiet congratulations—

All of it drifted into the evening air.

Until it was just them.

Leah stood beside Izana near the fountain, her fingers still loosely holding his. The golden light had shifted now—warmer, softer, almost dim.

Everything felt… slower.

Quieter.

Real.

She exhaled softly.

"It's over."

Izana glanced at her.

"No."

Leah blinked.

He turned fully toward her.

"It's just starting."

Her lips curved faintly.

"That was very smooth."

"I'm not trying to be."

"You don't have to try."

A small pause settled between them.

Comfortable.

Then—

Without warning—

Izana stepped closer.

And lifted her.

Bridal style.

Leah let out a small surprised sound, her hands instinctively moving to his shoulders.

"Izana—!"

Her eyes widened slightly.

"You didn't even warn me."

"I didn't need to."

"You absolutely did."

But she didn't resist.

Didn't pull away.

Instead, her arms slowly wrapped around his neck, holding onto him as he carried her toward the mansion.

Her heart beat just a little faster.

"…Where are you taking me?" she asked, quieter now.

Izana didn't look away from the path ahead.

"Our room."

The words settled between them.

Different now.

Not unfamiliar.

But changed.

Leah felt it.

The shift.

Her fingers tightened slightly in the fabric of his jacket.

"Oh."

That was all she said.

But it carried everything.

Inside—

The mansion was quiet.

Dimly lit.

Calm after the day's noise.

Izana walked steadily down the hallway, his hold on her secure. Not rushed. Not hesitant.

Certain.

When they reached the bedroom door, he pushed it open.

Then stepped inside.

And closed it behind them.

The room was soft with low light.

Warm.

Still.

He walked to the bed.

Carefully.

Gently—

He set her down.

Leah's dress spread slightly around her as she settled against the sheets. Her breath came a little slower now, her eyes lifting to meet his.

Izana stood over her for a moment.

Just looking at her.

Really looking.

Not as a bride.

Not as someone he was bound to.

But as her.

Leah tilted her head slightly.

"…Why are you looking at me like that?"

His voice was quieter than before.

"Because I can."

Her cheeks warmed faintly.

"You've been able to all day."

"This is different."

She swallowed softly.

"…How?"

A small pause.

Then—

"You're mine now."

The words weren't possessive.

They weren't controlling.

They were… certain.

Leah's expression softened.

"I've always been."

Izana moved then.

Slowly.

He leaned down—

And kissed her.

Soft at first.

Careful.

Like he was giving her time to pull away.

But she didn't.

Instead, her hand lifted—

Fingers brushing lightly against his collar.

Holding him closer.

The kiss deepened.

Not rushed.

Not overwhelming.

Just… real.

Warm.

Intentional.

When he pulled back slightly, his forehead rested against hers.

"…Leah."

Her voice was barely above a whisper.

"Yes?"

He hesitated.

Just slightly.

"I want to make sure—. "

She didn't let him finish.

Her hands lifted to his face.

Cupping his cheeks.

Gently.

"You don't have to ask."

His brows knit faintly.

"I do."

"That's who you are," she said softly.

"And I love that about you."

Her thumb brushed lightly against his cheek.

"But you don't have to worry."

A small smile.

"I'm not going anywhere."

Something in his expression shifted.

Softened.

More than before.

"…Say it clearly."

Leah blinked.

"What?"

"What you want."

Her breath caught slightly.

Then steadied.

"I want you."

The words were quiet.

But certain.

No hesitation.

No doubt.

Izana exhaled slowly.

Like something inside him had finally settled.

Then he leaned in again.

This time—

The kiss wasn't hesitant.

It was deeper.

Warmer.

Filled with everything he didn't say out loud.

Leah responded just as naturally, her fingers sliding to his tie.

Loosening it.

Slowly pulling it free.

The movement was small.

But it made his breath hitch.

She noticed.

A faint smile touched her lips.

"Still composed?" she murmured softly.

"…No."

"Good."

Her fingers moved to the buttons of his shirt.

Careful.

Unhurried.

Undoing them one by one.

Izana watched her the entire time.

His hand resting lightly at her waist.

Grounding.

When the last button slipped free, she paused.

Looking up at him.

"…You're staring again."

"Yes."

Leah laughed quietly.

"You really don't hide anything, do you?"

"Not from you."

Her expression softened.

Then—

His hand moved.

Brushing gently along her arm.

Up to her shoulder.

Slow.

Intentional.

Like he was memorizing her.

Leah's breath softened.

Her eyes fluttered for just a moment.

"Izana…"

"Yes."

"Stop looking at me like I'm going to disappear."

His hand stilled.

"…I'm making sure you don't."

Her chest tightened slightly at that.

"You don't have to."

A small pause.

"I'm here."

His gaze searched hers.

Then slowly—

His hand slid to the back of her neck.

Pulling her closer.

Their foreheads touched again.

"I know."

Another kiss.

Softer this time.

Lingering.

Like neither of them wanted to rush past it.

Leah's hands rested against his chest now.

Feeling his heartbeat.

Steady.

But not calm.

Not anymore.

"…You're nervous," she whispered.

"I'm aware."

She smiled faintly.

"That's new."

"…Yes."

Her fingers pressed lightly against him.

"Good."

"Why?"

"Because it means this matters."

He didn't argue.

Didn't deny it.

Izana's breath shifted.

Just slightly.

His forehead rested briefly against hers.

"Leah…"

She smiled faintly.

"You're overthinking again."

"…I'm not."

"You are."

A small pause.

Then she added quietly—

"…Just stay with me."

That was enough.

Izana kissed her again.

Deeper this time.

His restraint didn't disappear—

But it softened.

His hand traced gently along her side, careful of the delicate fabric of her dress.

Leah's fingers tightened slightly against him as she pulled him closer.

The distance between them faded.

Slowly.

Naturally.

Like it was always meant to.

The world outside the room—

Gone.

The expectations.

The past.

The weight he carried for so long—

All of it faded into something distant.

Because right here—

Right now—

There was only her.

And she wasn't afraid.

That mattered more than anything.

Izana's lips brushed along her jaw.

Then lower.

Gentle.

Unhurried.

Leah's breath caught softly.

Her hand moved into his hair, holding onto him just a little tighter.

"Izana…"

Her voice wasn't uncertain.

Just quiet.

He paused for half a second.

Just enough to listen.

Just enough to make sure.

Then continued—

Carefully.

Always carefully.

Because that was who he was.

And who he chose to be.

For her.

Leah shifted slightly beneath him, her dress rustling softly against the sheets.

Her fingers traced along his shoulder, then down, grounding herself in the moment.

Everything felt slow.

Intentional.

Nothing rushed.

Nothing forced.

Just two people—

Choosing each other.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Izana lifted his head slightly, his forehead resting against hers once more.

Their breaths mingled.

Close.

Warm.

"…Leah."

She opened her eyes.

Met his gaze.

"Yes?"

A pause.

Then, quieter—

"Stay."

Her expression softened completely.

"I already am."

And that was enough.

The distance between them disappeared once more.

The room fell into soft silence.

The kind that held meaning.

The kind that didn't need words.

Outside—

The last of the lights in the garden dimmed.

Petals rested untouched.

The night settled in fully.

And inside—

The world narrowed to just them.

To warmth.

To closeness.

To something unspoken but understood.

And slowly—

Gently—

The moment faded into quiet.

Into softness.

Into something that belonged only to them.
